Illegal immigrants started nearly 40 percent of human-caused wildfires along the Arizona and Mexico border between 2006 and 2010, according to a new government report that backs up claims state lawmakers made during this year’s catastrophic blazes.
That number even may be understated - the report by the Government Accountability Office said federal land agencies often violate their own policies by not trying to investigate the origins of such fires. Of the 422 human-caused fires, just 77 were investigated, and of those 30 were found to have been ignited by illegal border crosses.
Illegal immigration also makes battling the fires harder as firefighters worry more about their own safety and curb some tactics, such as backfires, for fear of harming illegal immigrants who may still be in the area, GAO said.

What U.S. citizen would dare even have a campfire these days....
We’re locked out of our southern public lands unless we’re heavily armed, and most of us typically obey the “no fires” signs. If we don’t, we get hauled off to jail or prison.
For the illegal criminals, only the welcome mat. And, we the taxpayers, continue to be belittled and name-called by the powers-that-be.
Illegals yes, but I would make that illegal drug smugglers. The fire that decimated the Chircauhuas was started by drug smugglers being chased on foot by a BP agent. He would get close and they’d start a little fire and he’d stop to put it out. He couldn’t keep up with them and one of their fires got out of control and that was that. He should have shot them.
Someone will take offense to them being called “illegal immigrant arsonists”, and insist that they be referred to as “undocumented thermal energy liberators”.
These hyphenated voting blocs establish a country within our country-----they then pressure vote-crazed pols for billions in foreign aid, and other giveaways, to their homelands.
EXAMPLE-----THE MERIDA INITIATIVE was a tax-financed flop whereby our vote-crazed Congress gave millions of dollars to Mexico to "help fight the war on drugs."
Not one of these vote-obsessed candidates has EVER questioned hyphenates' loyalties........and the threat this poses to US ntl security.
Its high time we abolished hyphenates---and the odious practice of establishing a foreign country within our country-----for the express purpose of undermining US ntl security-----and to decimate US laws and customs.
