Maggie Daley, the wife of former Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and a gracious promoter of the city's cultural and educational programs, has died. She was 69. (born July 1943)
Maggie Daley, who had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2002, died Thursday night, family spokeswoman Jacquelyn Heard told The Associated Press. Daley had been a reserved and dignified presence at her husband's side during his 22 eventful years as mayor.
When she first learned she had breast cancer in June 2002, Daley said she was shocked. "But you pick up and you move on. ... I'm not alone here. There are a lot of people who have experienced this," Daley said in the weeks after the diagnosis.

God Bless President Kennedy. He was far from perfect and was misguided in a few areas. But he loved America and our current President makes him look like George Washington !

None of us is perfect yet we are all God’s children, and when it comes to the kind of judgement you are passing out on someone’s wife and mother, that is WAY above your paygrade.

Well, some of us here (and I’m speaking for myself, really) think that forums such as FR are far enough from the reality of it that we can offer honest opinions about those celebrities, known for being known, or as the case may be, known for being part of that corrupt 1% political class contemptuous of worms like you and me. You can offer your condolences to the family, but the family doesn’t read FR, and you’re just posturing, otherwise you’d go out on this Thanksgiving night, find an open store, buy a suitabler card, research the address, wait in line at the post office tomorrow morning, and send it priority mail.
