The Mormon Factor
The Washington Times ^ | Nov. 25, 2011 | Jennifer Harper

Doubts about Mitt Romney’s fitness for the White House disappear when skittish Republicans, conservatives and even evangelicals consider the alternative: another four years of President Obama and his evolving administration.

If Romney gets the nomination, I will hold my nose and vote for him.

I did that with McCain....and if I can do it for him, I can do it for any Republican.

In full disclosure, I was a brain-dead liberal until I saw the Democrats run roughshod over the Constitution during the Bork nomination hearing and then became incensed at the high tech lynching of Thomas.

I vowed then and there to never vote for a Democrat, under ANY circumstances, ever again.

It took a few more years to figure out that voting third party or even just "sitting this one out" was a vote for a Democrat just as sure as throwing a lever.

Four more years of Obama will destroy the U.S. Any Repubican candidate will be better. The Media manipulates the masses to the left-wing liberal side. We have to think freely without distortion.

“voting for a third party or sitting it out”.

Amen! It is beyond belief that anyone would help Obama get re-elected. Look at the damage he has done in less than one term. I would take any of the GOP candidates over Obama without hesitation.

If POS Romney is the nominee, then O wins by default. Even if Romney could get elected,(which he won’t), he will just be more of the same commie crap.

No thanks. I will never vote for him, no matter what.

I will not vote for Romney until he tells me whether he will install the Constitution on his new planet. After all, this life is one life only, but the planet that Mormonism says he will be given to populate is every life and for ever - isn't it?

???????

Romney has a planet now?

whatever.

I won’t vote for Romney, period. I won’t validate Mormonism. And Mormonism is what causes Mitt to do Romneycare, so you can’t separate religion from politics.

I am 50 years old, an Active LDS (mormon) member all of my life .... and frankly .... I have no idea what you are talking about!

Mormons believing they are going to inherit a planet??? Where did you get ahold of that anti-mormon fantasy?

Show me where that is in the Bible/Book of Mormon! Or where Christ promised that?

Essentially, I believe that you are either incredibly gullible, ignorant, decieved or ... possibly all three at the same time!

Please, for the love of God himself, grow a brain.

I’ve been a freeper for a long time and I think you guys are misguided on Mitt. I am a native Michigander and Mitt’s father George was a very popular Republican governor there. My sister-in-law used to roam Mackinaw Island during the summer months with the young Mitt so she feels that she grew up with him. He’s a decent, kind, and honorable man...according to her. He has never forgotten her or her family and has done some very generous things throughout his life. He will be a fine President. Anyone who’d rather have Obama for a President is off their rocker. Mitt is not an unknown entity. He’s not a die hard conservative...but you’re dreaming if you think we will ever be able to win a National election with anything close to a “conservative.”

“I’ll take Obama over Mittens.”

Really? You think that America will not be totally destroyed under 4 more years of 0bama/Soros/Ayers etc. Socialism/Communism?

I don’t like RINO Romney either, but I will vote for him over the COMMUNIST zer0. I’ll probably bite my tongue in half while pulling the lever, but I’m not going to give away the country or throw away the memories of all the soldiers that gave their lives to keep us free.

If we can survive 4 years of 0bama & gang, we can survive 4 years of Romney.

That’ll give us four years to find a REAL GOP CONSERVATIVE (or TEA Party) candidate that can run against him. America cannot withstand 4 more years of 0bama.

The first 4 years of 0bama were just paving the road and laying the groundwork for the total takeover of our country during the next four.

I could have written every word you wrote above.
Same experience....

I don’t care for Romney at all, he epitomizes the “slick northern Republican elite” wing of the party that wishes only to perpetuate their own power and influence and to heck with values or principles. But there is a high likelihood that we may be stuck with him as the nominee, courtesy of the primaries.

Given those circumstances, I’m reminded of the saying, “old age isn’t so bad, when you consider the alternative”.

Come election day, the question will boil down to:
“Obama — would we be better off with him, or without him?”

I know what my answer must be.

(by the way, I liked Eddie Willers and didn’t understand why Rand “left his character hanging” the way she did...)

I have been a freeper for a long time too and you have a valid point ‘river. Many of us trying to take a more realistic rational approach to debate have been asked to pack their bags. You know when your own team asks an Orange County, Newport Beach, Lincoln Clubber, Ronald Reagan Conservative with strong Libertarian beliefs to “pack their bags” from a conservative site like Free Republic then one can only assume that the idea here is WE THE PEOPLE, that is ALL the people of this nation MUST and WILL be ruled under one belief and one belief only. One ideology becomes doctrine the other destroyed. Does anyone really believe that is possible in The United States of America today...? Unless you are willing to go the way of balkanization and separation then you must learn and accept the fact life is about give and take and to claim victory is simply getting just a bit more than getting little or nothing at all.

There aren’t that many issues left, social or otherwise, that conservatives care about that haven’t been ruled on already, 9 out 10 times in favor of the left.. Just what am I fearing?

I don’t like Romney either and I am hoping against all hope that he will not make it as the nominee as he is the “it’s my turn candidate.” But it is just amazing all the “conservatives” here on FR that are willing to insure the failure of this country if Romney ends up being the GOP candidate. That’s just unbelievable, but these people have done this in the past and the results have been disasterous for our country. So go ahead and “show us” just how stupid you really are and stay home, or write in your dog, or whatever makes you “feel good.” I guess you are closet Liberals, because that’s how they vote; on their “feelings.” You are all a disgrace! To you BAC’s, “God helps those who help themselves.” He will “give” you that which you vote for!

Please, for the love of God himself, grow a brain.

Yes teppe, please do.

Of course it isn't in the bom or bible- just look further such as "Gospel Principles" and other mormon teachings.

It is a sad thing when mormons have to actually lie about mormon beliefs in order to try to convince others that it is legit.

Christ would never promise such sin...

and nobody in this thread ever said He did...

Its blasphemy to blame the LORD Jesus Christ for the sinful nature and lusts of Joey Smith..

The Mortmon practice of polygamy is not part of Christianity

The anti-Christian womanizer Joey Smith made it all up in order to get himself lots of young virgin girls...

Current Mormon doctrine d&c 132...
