That was roughly the premise of the Jericho TV series, though the network killed it just as it was getting interesting.
If there ever was a classic setup for a movie the last episode of Jericho was it.
Texas ANG F-16 pilot Col. R. Thompson... "I think I just declared war on Cheyenne."
Now, here is a little something I didn't know...
Season 3 is not a live-action show, but a six-part comic book series "from the minds" of the original Jericho production team and written by the Jericho writing team. There have also been rumors of a motion picture version, beginning where Season 2 left off. During the 2011 Comic-Con, it was stated that the Graphic Novel buys are being watched, and could lead to the motion picture being made. Also, in an interview with IDW the following was stated, "a comment about a possible TV movie and a strongly worded conviction that we will get our show back."
I loved “Jericho” too. A great series. I absolutely regret its cancellation.
