Can The Disgraced Van Jones Build A Left-Wing Version Of The Tea Party?

Remember Van Jones, the President Obama's "green energy czar," from the early days of the administration? He's the one who resigned after Glenn Beck and others exposed a video of him calling Republicans "assholes," and his dabbling in 9/11 conspiracy theories.

Well, according to Politico, he's back.

And he's apparently helping to shepherd an open-source left-wing political coalition that was inspired by the Tea Party. He calls it The American Dream Movement, and its slogan is "Rebuild the Dream"

“I thought progressives were too quick to go from hopey to mopey” during the past two years, Jones told POLITICO in a recent interview. “They skipped the fight in the middle.”

The tea party, he said, impressed him by “the way they were able to gather so many organizations and individuals under an open-source brand. There just wasn’t a voice on the economy for progressives and moderates that was coherent and passionate like them. I thought that was really fascinating, so I studied them.”

The report from Politico is interesting, but it is hard to credit Van Jones with leading much. His conferences draw few people. And the sourcing in the story suggests that the Occupy Wall Street movement, which happened entirely apart from Jones' leadership, presents him with an opportunity.

Jones claims to have more organizing power than the Tea Party movement. That's a difficult claim to credit. There are hundreds of Tea Party or Tea-tinted groups working autonomously along with several regional or Washington-directed Tea Party groups that are competing with each other for activist-loyalty and patronage.

“Can The Disgraced Van Jones Build A Left-Wing Version Of The Tea Party?”

Why would one be necessary? The Left Wing already controls the White House, the Senate, the courts, the media, the colleges, education, the lawyers and Corporate America. Plus, they’ve already had their “coffee party” movement and OWS. It really would be redundant.

I thought that’s what the “Occupy” movement was supposed to be.

They’ve already tried this at least twice. I believe they tried a ‘Coffee’ Party rally this past summer at one point and something like 200 people showed up.

Van Jones net worth $1.1 Million.

Looks like he's one of the "Millionaires and Billionaires".

Time for some redistributive change in Jonesy's life.

Give them the wealth, Jonesy! Give them the wealth!

I wonder if he got his fingers into the Solyndra pie. Hmmm?

The American Dream has always been about being free and able to work for ones own benefit and therefore reap the rewards of that work.

The OWS crowd are the antitheses of that.

He can’t build a tea party if he can’t understand it. The fact that he thinks he can build a left wing tea party shows just how little he does understand.

The Tea Party was spontaneous. Van Jones wants something contrived that he can control. The DNC will not want the competition in what they consider their ideological turf.

Wow! They got as many as 200? I assume it dropped to 5 when they learned free coffee would not be provided.

Van Jones thinks everything came come from the top down, that the all powerful Bureaucrat and Technocrat can will what he needs into existence, and he is mistaken.

I think Vanny needs to spend the Next 56 years or so in a prison before he sends the rest of us to His Prison Camps, If he keeps up this path he will find his end like Mussolini or Ceausescu.

Boo frickin’ hoo. I am SO sorry. Let me apologize 100X. If only the communists came to like us, they would surely treat us better.

/sarc off

Van Jones is a dedicated COMMUNIST REVOLUTIONARY, in case you have been living in a cave on Mars for the past decade.

Communist revolutionaries killed over 100 million people in the last century. I'm pretty sure that if there was a CW2 with Van Jones leading the communists, we'd be shooting at them.

At least, most of us would. Many would cringe on their knees, begging the communists for leniency.

Yes and it has failed every time, every single time. The Soviet Union, The Eastern Bloc, China is going to fall hard, Cuba and North Korea is Hell on earth. The Question is not if Van Jones and Is Ilk will fail, its how many corpses will the final victory flag be planted because of these people?

Can The Disgraced Van Jones Build A Left-Wing Version Of The Tea Party?

The Tea Party went out and recruited strong conservative candidates who ran on basic conservative economic and moral positions. And they won in huge numbers.

For Van Jones to duplicate that he would have to do the same thing. That would require the recruitment of candidates to run on your basic Marxist/Socialist/Communist platform.

Where do I contribute money to that effort? We could not ask for a finer gift.

But, of course, it won't be that simple. Jones will instead recruit your basic Marxist/Socialist/Communist candidates who will run as middle of the road types. Now that might be a problem. But I don't think so. He will fail, but it will be fun to watch him twist slowly in the wind as he finally recognizes that fact.

One thing you can be sure of, if CW II was to happen,
Van Jones and his ilk would be shooting at US.

Our local paper laid off a fine local columnist last week and has replaced him with a syndicated Van Jones column.

So long as hie’s not associated to it directly. I’ve had great success in shutting down people who support OWS by announcing they are endorsed by the nazis, commies and the kkk. They start with the “Oh, that’s not true!” and then I show them the videos...I’ve gotten apologies on a couple of occasions.

Why build an organization that's redundant with the Communist Party?

Based upon what ideas/principles? The Tea Party is based upon limited government, individual rights & lower levels of taxation. What would a “progressive” equivalent coalesce around? More free stuff? A communist utopia? Some other ridiculous unobtainium?

Van Jones is a very dangerous man. He is worse than most fear 0bama is. Not only is he a marxist, but he has it within him to be a cold blooded killer in the mold of Stalin, or Che’. Of course this is in my opinion

The communists/socialists/marxists are already in position. Progressive Republicans and Democrats have bought in, and all we really need is a call from the masses, to put down insurrection of any sort. We are in a pickle right now. It is not something that needs to be in place, the framework is finished. One World govt, love it, or leave it...lol Where do we go? Hole up, and be a Patriot.

Van Jones and his hippy commies tried to set up an OWS protest in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Three of the “revolutionaries” showed up. Then the city garbage truck parked in front of the commies, blocking their signs. They folded up an hour later and headed back to mommy’s basement.

Van Jones is a pitiful, incompetent jerk. He couldn’t organize an iced lemonade stand in a desert.

The problem with this inane drivel is that “the dream” has been rebuilt countless times already - by Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro, Che, Pol Pot, Uncle Ho, and many others, with results which have darkened the annals of history with ignorance and reddened them with blood.
