Expert unease over deadly flu virus 'created' in Dutch laboratory

Dutch scientists have created a flu virus which is so deadly there is doubt about whether the research should be published, the Volkskrant reports on Friday.
The paper says American experts are worried detailed information could fall into the wrong hands and that terrorists could recreate the virus as a weapon. The fears are notable because the work was carried out on behalf of the National Institutes of Health in the US.
The research team, led by Ron Fouchier, professor of virology at Erasmus teaching hospital, was able to create a highly infectious variant of the bird flu virus H5N1. H5N1 rarely transfers from animal to human, but if it does, the infection is often fatal.

It would be really interesting to know just what they had in mind....
We simply need a legal doctrine where if anyone dies from this pathogen, the good doctor goes to prison for murder. Let him immerse his petri dishes in Chlorox, or take his chances. He’s nothing more than a modern day Doctor Frankenstein and his monster is in a cage... for now.

This kind of research may well be adjunct to developing the capability to produce effective antiviral technology. For all we know he may be more hero than monster. Time will tell.

Why does the “world-UN” or others allow the development of such bio-WMDs that could kill off the world? Once these gremlins are let out of the box either through leaked intel or leaked research or physically, there is no turning back the clock. They can be released without accountability.
These are much worse and catastrophic than the nukes that we’re worried about with Iran and others. My concern is that there are perverse interests in the world that would like to see 50% or more of the world killed off, and it would not go beyond their beliefs to do it.

As in how they mutate. How they attach to cells. How they high-jack the workings of cells to reproduce.
The more you know how viruses function the more you can do to prevent them from killing people and the more you can modify viruses do what you want them to do. Like cure cancer, cure genetic disease or modify food crops to make them disease resistant.
My guess is that this is the tool that the Obamacare Death Panels will use to execute their decisions. Not content with just refusing life saving medicine, this tool will be used to execute their decisions immediately.
People are in such a hurry.
They were checking to see if it could be weaponized and basically found that it could be. So now the point is to try to make sure that terrorists don’t figure out how to do it by getting ahold of the research description and data.
My bet is that if these scientists were able to do it, some Muslim biologist would also be able to figure out how to do it, as long as they had the facility and raw materials to do it with. That’s where it bites us in the butt that the entre Middle East is being taken over by Islamists. It provides lots of cover for somebody to do this kind of “research” for weaponization purposes.

That’s how you study a virus. You make little changes in the structure and see what the morphology, or topography, has to do with infectiousness, transmissibility, and whether there can be a single influenza vaccine that would work for all variants.
btw the article says that Japanese researchers have discovered a similar variant, so it’s a good guess that it’s not a secret.
If you look on Ebay for DNA equipment, you’ll find that for $10,000 or so you can have a nifty home DNA lab. I was talking to a Johns Hopkins scientist at a biothreat conference, and apparently the government is quite concerned about amateurs, or people outright hostile, setting up a lab in some apartment somewere.
Look up The White Plague by Herbert, he wrote about a guy who made his own virus at home (and killed millions), and this was back in 1982!
I was suggesting general possibilities. I don’t know that this specific bug was designed with Agenda 21 in mind. But I do know there are Agenda 21-influenced environmental wingnuts crazy enough to unleash such wholesale death if they could figure out how to protect their own sorry butts.
