The illusion of control [Republic in Grips of a Shadow Empire]
Neanderpundit ^ | Nov 28, 2011 | Og

Persists everywhere. The idea that voting or individual activism will fix the trouble we’re in is a big part of what got us into this mess to begin with.

Our republic is strong, and is filled with hardworking people who will carry it anywhere it wants to go. Pitiably, the leadership of that Republic has been usurped by a shadow empire, a ruling class which has it’s own set of rules and it’s own hierarchy.

Nobody “Elected” Rahm Immanuel, nobody ran against him. Wingnuthead got “voted” in despite being as worthless as tits on a boar. The Ruling Class, despite being subject to an electoral process, will always only ever allow candidates to appear who meet their criteria.

< snip >

It has already become complete and overt in europe- witness the Greek mess. Money quote:

Greek ex-Prime Minister Papandreou rather foolishly suggested the Greek people might like to influence their economic future in a democratic manner, only to be immediately toppled by the EU powers and replaced by Lucas Papademos, a man of impeccable Socialist economic credentials, who went from Governor of the Bank of Greece to Vice President of the European Central Bank (ECB) to Prime Minister of Greece. In other words an EU placeman in a previously democratic country.

< snip >

The Shadow Empire is well made, fully established, completely embedded, irretrievably attached to our little republic in a way that is probably impossible to change.

This goes a long way in explaining why so many governments have endorsed "Occupy." Should this bitterly humorous surmise of our situation be accurate, that endorsement is our local overlords' informal way of telling the the major portion of us (who've been asleep over decades) that those who've dreamed of a global Empire are occupying our might-as-well-be-lost republic.

At last someone is telling it like it is.

Many have, but few are listening.

There is a shadow government as sure as I'm sitting here, but they have perfected the art of stealth, disinformation, propaganda.

Any honest candidate may run for office, few ever survive in office more than a term or two unless they too, get with the program.

Ordinary Joe-six-pack appears too busy working and raising their family to dig deep into what is commonly referred to as “Conspiracy Theory”.

It's a shame.

This is the conclusion I’ve come to, and so I wonder why I should vote.

Truth. The terrible secret of the perpetual ruling class is this: you don’t have to control who gets elected. You just have to control who DOESN’T get elected.

One of the reasons the ruling class hated the Tea party so
much is that it was citizens walking out of their homes for no other reason than they had enough of it.

Seeing those masses of people standing up to them must have been terrifying.

They have always kept it going with divide and conquer, racial division, class warfare etc.

I remember reading somewhere many moons ago that the greatest fear of the ruling class was if the people ever amassed against them. We win by sheer numbers.

Too bad the Tea party got into politics and party politics, that is where you come back under their control.

The OWS crowd is just their necessary idiots and pawns controlled by the ruling class.

Sad part is that many of them have no idea they are being used.

Only in the hopes that from your vote
  1. you indicate you will accept it slow and gentle rather than fast and hard.
  2. our rulers will extend mercy to you because you've signaled your acceptance of the status quo.

Yep. See number 8. “Please let me have it slow and gentle.”

I created my FReep handle back in 2001 with a concern about forestalling dictatorial attempt to restore the republic that would lead to empire.

I never really conceded that the Empire could coexist with the republic. And now I am awakened to find that it not only coexisted for some time, but that it now fully occupies every institution you can think of.

Hear their crowing yet?

I saw that and I am not liking it.

We always get told to be quiet and quit worrying because we sound like kooks.

That must mean we have a right to be worried.

"Pitiably, the leadership of that Republic has been usurped by a shadow empire, a ruling class which has it’s own set of rules and it’s own hierarchy."

Definitely true.

"Our republic is strong, and is filled with hardworking people who will carry it anywhere it wants to go."

Really? So who elected this ruling class? Empowered them? Keeps them in office? Tolerates their abuse? Shrugs off their abuses? Ignores their excesses? Excuses their greed?

Who has surrendered liberty to them in exchange for their snake-oil promises?

In fact--who has surrendered the United States to these people?????

This is the conclusion I’ve come to, and so I wonder why I should vote.

If this election turns out as I'm expecting (Romney - the "frontrunner" who never seems to poll beyond 3rd place), I'll probably not even bother. Voting just encourages the bastards, and also implies your consent to the results. I think I'm pretty much done consenting to anything.

Your rhetorical questions are not unsound, but they are a non sequitur with respect to a hardworking people.

Are they too trusting? Naive even? Too willing to believe those really are public servants they’ve been voting for all these years? Yes, yes, and yes.

So maybe it’s the republic part you find questionable. So do I. However, the institutions of the republic ARE strong. What you and I may agree not to like is that the institutions have had their goals redirected. Heh.

Og is insisting that the situation is too far gone for voting to matter. Do you agree or disagree with his assessment? Such as: “Now witness the firepower of this fully ARMED and OPERATIONAL battle station.”

Controversial? Not so much as a short time ago. This is as simple a surmise of what we’re facing as I’ve seen.

"Og is insisting that the situation is too far gone for voting to matter. Do you agree or disagree with his assessment?"

I definitely disagree.

However, any faith I ever had in the inherent genius of the U.S. electorate ended abruptly in 2008.

Furthermore the power of the vote can be expected to be attenuated even more than it already has been by massive election fraud, especially in the 2012 election. The Democrats' objection to proof of citizenship is nothing but a cover for election fraud. And you can bet the Democrat politicians in office now will not leave without a fight--a very dirty fight.

On the other hand, an enlightened electorate could kick every one of those corrupt politicians out of office forthwith--and impeach every one of those corrupt judges.

No. It's not to late for voting to matter. The problem is voter enlightenment, and so far there doesn't seem to be enough.

In asking those questions I was not being facetious. If America has a ruling class of corrupt politicians and their operatives--and she does--it's the fault of the American people.

Thugs like the politicians and their henchpersons who are running the U.S. into the ground have been around since before the dawn of history, and they will no doubt always be around--like insects, snakes, parasites, and pathogenic microorganisms.

If the American people allow them to take over the U.S.A.--and they have allowed this--then its the fault of the American people.

The American people could throw those thugs out of Washington right away.

People get the kind of government they demand--and deserve.

“The American people could throw those thugs out of Washington right away.”

That was possible in Sen. Joseph McCarthy’s day but not now.
