ATLANTA -- Herman Cain on Monday pre-emptively denied a forthcoming accusation by a woman who is expected to say she had a 13-year affair with the Republican presidential candidate.
In an apparent effort to get ahead of the story, Cain appeared in a cable news interview to say the woman is "someone who I know, who is an acquaintance, who I thought was a friend."
MyFoxAtlanta.com released some details of the story, which is scheduled to air Monday night, shortly after Cain appeared on CNN -- identifying the accuser as an Atlanta businesswoman named Ginger White.
"It was pretty simple," White told the station. "It wasn't complicated. I was aware that he was married. And I was also aware I was involved in a very inappropriate situation, relationship."

That much is obvious, and I am probably alone in thinking that the person behind it all is Obama himself.
This just does not strike me as the kind of dirty tricks thing that Republicans would do. For one thing, it’s tawdry, tacky and very low class. For another, there is too much of a chance that the MSM would trace the leak back and use it to slam whichever Republican leaked it.
OTOH, Chicago thug politics rules in this administration and regardless of how the rest of the country perceives Cain, I think he is the candidate that scares Obama the worst.
The race card has always been his ultimate “never-fail” trump. He’s always been able to use it to his advantage to get things he knows damn well he does not deserve. The worst nightmare he has — one that would definitely cause sleepless nights — is finding himself in a one-on-one debate against Cain.

I heard on Fox that she says she does have late night messages - don’t know if they are phone or email. If she’s got them, suppose they will appear.
It takes a staggering amount of narcissism and arrogance for someone to run for president of the United States with this much baggage. He must think he is too big to fail.

The author of the article says they confirmed a phone number,,but I don’t believe for one minute the author didn’t ask to see a text message.....what was in those text messages,,and did the author think to look at how many messages were SENT to Mr Cain? Maybe he was just responding to pleas for help, etc...or trying to be kind or polite. I would have to see some real juicy content from a few messages to be convinced this was anything other than a flirtatious friendship. Sorry,,,he must still be scaring someone and in a very significant way!

That statement by Herman's lawyer wouldn't be very reassuring to me if I were on the Cain train. First it's bunk, whether someone running for President was cheating on their wife is most certainly a proper subject of inquiry by the media. Second, Lin Wood doesn't actually deny anything - he just complains about whether the media should cover it in the first place.
Ms. White says she has been unemployed, and she is a single mom with two kids struggling to make ends meet.
“I don’t think that makes me out to be a bad person,” White said. “It makes me out to be one of the millions of people right now trying to keep a roof over their head.”
We also found a lawsuit filed by a former business partner, Kimberly Vay, who once sought a “stalking temporary protective order” against Ms. White for “repeated e-mails/texts threatening lawsuit and defamation of character.” The case was dismissed; but was followed by a libel lawsuit against Ms. White. A judge entered an order in favor of Kimberly Vay because Ms. White failed to respond to the lawsuit.
