Herman Cainís Attorney [Basically] Admits Affair - Studies in failures to communicate.
Redstate ^ | 11/28/2011 | Leon H. Wolf

Posted on 11/28/2011 3:51:44 PM PST by TBBT

In breaking news this afternoon, a Georgia woman is claiming that she had a 13-year affair with Herman Cain. She says she has documents (whatever they might be) which can back it up. In what can only be described as the guiltiest-looking no-comment statement in the history of politics, Cain’s lawyer offered this absurd response (especially hilarious parts in bold):

*snip*

One of two things is true about this statement. Either Mr. Cain and his attorney are basing their views on what is an appropriate subject of media scrutiny for political candidates on the way politics work on another planet (perhaps another galaxy, even), or they are basically trying to telegraph to us that he completely did it. After following Cain’s campaign for the last several months, I would say either is equally likely. After all, basically the only reason a Presidential candidate would take a principled stand against admitting or denying that they had a multi-year affair on the woman to whom they are still married is if they have some principled objection to lying about having completely done it. And if that wasn’t the intended message, then Cain’s communications operation is even worse than we thought – which is really saying something.

Ah, no he didn’t. And Newt is still an amoral, backstabbing weasel who doesn’t have an ounce of leadership in him. So says my conservative former representative from a couple of years back.

“Rather, this appears to be an accusation of private, alleged consensual conduct between adults – a subject matter which is not a proper subject of inquiry by the media or the public. No individual, whether a private citizen, a candidate for public office or a public official, should be questioned about his or her private sexual life.”

With a lawyer like that, who needs enemies. OUCH!

This is from Fox 5: Before our interview, we checked into Ginger White’s background. We found she filed a sexual harassment claim against an employer in 2001. That case was settled.

We also found a bankruptcy filing nearly 23 years ago in Kentucky, and a number of eviction notices here in DeKalb County over the past six years. The most recent happened this month.

Ms. White says she has been unemployed, and she is a single mom with two kids struggling to make ends meet.

“We also found a lawsuit filed by a former business partner, Kimberly Vay, who once sought a “stalking temporary protective order” against Ms. White for “repeated e-mails/texts threatening lawsuit and defamation of character.” The case was dismissed; but was followed by a libel lawsuit against Ms. White. A judge entered an order in favor of Kimberly Vay because Ms. White failed to respond to the lawsuit.

I love Cain. Many people I respect love Cain. But this one looks to be true. She has cell records, texts, probably much more. Cain has already denied this. Cain is toast. He’ll have a hard time staying married. I feel sorry for him, but why run with this hanging over him? I guess this is the reason for such a long primary. Weeds them out. Looks like we better get behind Newt.... Just Damn.

Since the mods have locked the other thread I’ll answer you here.

The “relationship” lasted for 13 YEARS. Ended 8 months ago, last texts in Sept.

Doesn’t it bother you that he just NOW told his WIFE about this woman. I mean good grief has America sunk that low, that affairs and sexual assaults are just fine for Presidential candidates? I’m being serious.

As for NEWT...HE BETTER KEEP HIS FAT MOUTH SHUT. The skeletons in his closet are getting deafening with all that rattling.

Frankly, I think this will be a big deal for Cain’s campaign. Part of the charm of his campaign is that he’s an ordinary man who has been successful and has the morality and intellect to lead the nation. He has never held an elected office, after all, so we need to believe he’s ready for a huge jump from private citizen to President of the United States of America. But if this sordid story is true, he a hypocrite and a phony. There is no honest way around it. And it doesn’t matter that Clinton was too; we all know that. The Left was cool with that, but we conservatives expect more from our leaders than lies and claptrap.
