President Obama's slow ride down Gallup's daily presidential job approval index has finally passed below Jimmy Carter, earning Obama the worst job approval rating of any president at this stage of his term in modern political history.

Since March, Obama's job approval rating has hovered above Carter's, considered among the 20th century's worst presidents, but today Obama's punctured Carter's dismal job approval line. On their comparison chart, Gallup put Obama's job approval rating at 43 percent compared to Carter's 51 percent.

As the Republican fighter pilot said after getting jumped by some MIGs, “Let’s do a 360 and get the heck out of here”.

This is all well and good, but who is our Ronald Reagan for 2012?

Interesting. LBJ was 44% according to this post, a point above Obama today, and he quit knowing he couldn’t win another term.

You make some fair observations, but is it asking too much to get candidates that don’t have that kind of ‘crap’ that can be exploited by the media? It’s not like they’re making all of it up....

There is no Ronald Reagan for 2012. Don’t expect one. Mark Levin had a good point yesterday...I said “good” because it is one many of us on FR have been insisting for months now: NONE OF OUR CANDIDATES ARE PERFECT. ALL OF THEM ARE BETTER THAN HUSSEIN.

Ronald Reagan wasn’t perfect. He gave us Sandra Day O’Connor and Anthony Kennedy. He trusted the Demonrats on amnesty. His first choice for VEEP was apparently a bigger RINO than G.H.W. Bush....but he was a great man who loved America and believed in the people.

Hussein is the polar opposite. He despises America and her people, and is happy to see our debt and problems increase. He must be defeated next November.

“LBJ was 44% according to this post, a point above Obama today, and he quit knowing he couldn’t win another term.”

Obama EGO won’t let him do that, and the livelyhoods of too many Democrats depends on the BILLION DOLLARS Obama is gathering for next year.

Good, but sobering, post.

A lot of Freepers are allowing the MSM/DNC to trash Cain by accepting the doubt that they are sowing. Yet the Duke Lacrosse incident was only a couple of years ago, and Freepers were well informed of how that developed. If informed, intelligent conservatives can be bamboozled, then we are indeed in trouble.

Apparently repeating a lie is an effective technique, and the press has mastered the methods.

You also correctly note that Gingrich and Romney are even more vulnerable than Cain. I will note that there is verifiable proof of character flaws with both Gingrich and Romney.

While Gingrich has shown that he is willing to challenge the press, I believe his baggage is so significant that he may not be able to overcome it.

Interesting. Gallup polls usually are stacked to favor the Democrat. Yet for the past several months, and notably with this one, it gives Obama worse numbers than Rasmussen does.

The Rasmussen numbers are not good, but they are better than they were at certain points over the past year.

I wonder. Are Gallup and the DNC now working for Hillary? Trying to throw Obama off the back of the sled by making him look even more hopeless than he is?

It is being made up and your buying it hook, line and sinker.

So the media learns all we have to do is pay some women to say this and the Republican party will say never mind the facts. Its the number that matters and not the media and press attempting to destroy a candidate in order to save Obama.

Amazed how easily manipulated Republicans can be. No wonder why Obama is in office

So, I already had several handicaps.

I've got a handicap or two myself. Like they used to say on the short bus, "That boy's just S-L-O-W."

Yet, Obama will probably win in 2012, as the Republicans continue their circular firing squad.

Amazing how many vows there are to NEVER EVER vote for this GOP candidate or that GOP candidate. It's like testifying or something.

Yes, why not Bachmann or Santorum? The corrupt MSM is laying the weeds on Gingrich. At the right time they wil filet him - alive - for all the world to watch and see.

We don't have a Reagan. We didn't have one before him, and we'll never have one after him. He was Sui generis. It's an utterly pointless exercise to keep wailing about how we don't have another. We have to stop defending people who don't deserve it just because we don't like the ones attacking them. Cain? We should be criticizing him, not whining about The Media Attacking Him. (I don't have to explain why to those who understand.) Bachmann is an utter joke. Gingrich is doing the Jedi mind trick and convincing people his New Age touchy feely stuff just never happened, he was ALWAYS a conservative, what are you talking about, immigration, Global Warming, healthcare... Romney? Perry? Paul? And so on. These are our candidates. No perfect candidate will ride in and rescue us. No 'true conservative' is running this time who's as perfect as Reagan (who wasn't perfect, or perfectly conservative...and he wasn't even always a Republican). This is the reality we have to deal with. Sitting out the election is a vote for Obama. It won't shake up the RNC and make them suddenly see the light and draft nothing but perfect, flawless conservatives. Support your conservative of choice in the primary, and then accept the reality and support the Republican in the general election. Continue to work locally to find and recruit true conservatives. That's really all there is to it. Drama queens who will sit out the election aren't loyal Americans, they're babies who won't put country ahead of their personal pique. Flame away, babies.
