Harry Reid's Bill Could Nullify State Illegal Immigration Laws

what may become the second arm of a federal pincer strategy aimed at judicially nullifying state laws, leading Democrats in Congress have proposed a new bill that may void the various state statutes enacted recently to combat the growth of the illegal alien population.

As has been thoroughly covered in The New American, the Obama administration has filed suit in several federal courts challenging the constitutionality of laws passed by state legislatures that have drawn the attention of the media for their more controversial provisions.

To date, the complaints filed by the Department of Justice (typically with the Department of Homeland Security listed as a co-plaintiff) have named as defendants the Attorneys General of the states whose laws they are seeking to set aside.

This latest effort by the federal government to redraw the lines of power laid out by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution would authorize the Department of Justice to file suit against state and local governments suspected of using racial profiling to carry out the new anti-illegal immigration laws passed by legislators.

En zo, now we know that the lawsuits filed against Arizona and other states ARE NOT LAWFUL ~ and Harry Reid is going to fix that.

There's evidence to use at the Supreme Court ~ that the US Senate says those suits are not authorized by law.

Reid = treason

Growing up that was a powerful word - it means nothing to this communist slug and his “colleagues” (ug, I Hate that word), er, I mean comrades.

Reid should read the 10th amendment.

Reid should also take a look at the composition of the House. Fat Chance comes to mind!

Reid is a piece of trash. One of the most repugnant politicians I have ever seen, and that’s saying a lot, because there’s been a lot of slime go through DC. Luckily, this bill has zero chance of going anywhere.

I’m hopeful that the Republicans will take the senate after the 2012 elections and we can start cramming bills down Reid’s pathetic throat, just as he’s changed senate rules to do the same to Republicans, all the while avoiding “tough” votes for his own cowardly comrades in arms.

Yeah, this won't pass. Grandstanding. Any bill presented by any Democrat at this point is grandstanding. Come to think of it, any bill proposed by any Republican at this point is grandstanding.

In a way, that's good.

The Dems want and need the amnesty issue to energize their Latino base. Reid knows the bill will go nowhere, but he wants to get the Reps on the record.

Clearly violates the mandate of U.S. Constitution which limits Federal government power. However, we have no way to stop mandates from D.C., as all the Courts are packed with “Progressive” lawyers, and they won’t take any challenges (even to the Usurper’s lack of Qualification)

If they pass this, I think the states get together and refuse to send money to the federal government.

If the states refuse to send money to the Feds, they won't have any money to spend on anything. Keep all the money the states collect and use it for the people in their respective states. That includes Social Security, etc.
