Report: Sandusky lawyer says plea deal possible
Updated at 08:15 AM today
HARRISBURG, Pa. - December 1, 2011 (WPVI) -- The lawyer for former Penn State coach Jerry Sandusky told a newspaper a guilty plea may have to be considered.
"That could happen if more allegations come forth and Jerry gets to the point where he realizes fighting against more than the original allegations might be a real uphill battle," Amendola said.
This reports comes one day after a man identified only as John Doe contended in a lawsuit that Sandusky sexually abused him more than 100 times and threatened to harm his family to keep him quiet.
The new accuser is not part of the criminal case.

There are too many people at the top of the food chain (Administrators, government types, and wealthy donors) who are probably in danger of being exposed as fellow pedophiles, and thus, they will give him a plea deal.
Too much money is at stake.
Most people in the state worship Pedo State football, so they won’t care. Rather I suspect most people in Pennsylvania will be fine with a plea deal: “Cover it up, brush it under the rug, and make it go away.”
“What kind of a plea deal is appropriate for raping numerous children?”
Put him in a room with the victims and their family members. Let him make his plea there and see what happens.
hatever the plea deal is it should include castration.
This will also prove a very difficult case to try.
Every judge in Centre County has already had to recuse themselves. The university is so woven into the fabric of the state that getting unbiased jurors is going to prove difficult.
While he remains breathing, he can talk. That might be enough of a risk to some. I’m with you, Sandusky will be made to go away, and with Freeh in the internal investigation, many things will not see the light of day.
Probably the reason the lawyer said go ahead with the Costas interview, to further poison the juror well. They are going to slam the kids, and it is not going to be pretty.
For Sandusky to get a plea deal he must give something valuable up. To wit: Identifying all those people who aided, abetted and benefitted from his despicable criminal behavior.
I bet there are many sphincters quivering in PA today. From the Penn State Board of Trustees through the entire school leadership/administration present and past (Spanier). Perhaps even some big PSU alumni doners. And
through the entire PA law enforcement and judicial System and possibly the Governor—present and past.
One wonders if Sandusky will be among the living for very long.
Ashamed Penn State grad—Class of ‘65. I sent an email to the Penn State Board of trustees almost a month ago. I expressed my displeasure with the school I was once proud to have graduated from. Got no response. If I don’t see a public and wholesale change in Penn State soon I intend to launch a campaign to destroy it. Anybody that feels likewise is welcome to join me in my crusade. Let me know in a private post.
Bruno will reach for him in the darkness of the night to cuddle.
Didlers don’t fare well in gen pop.
Which is a good thing.
several AK rounds later, including a walkup and empty the mag 'finale' by one of the boys, and problem solved...
Ray Gricar may have been murdered.
Wonder how many young boys and men have disappeared, committed suicide or been found murdered?
Does a D.A. really want to make a deal with the ultimate culprit to get those other people?!

Megabump. One wonders if "Joe Pa" might have to do a perp walk quite soon.
As a minimum, he’s an accessory. There is no way Joe did not know that Sandusky continued to have “emeritus” access to Penn State football facilities after the pervert “retired”.
There is certainly no way Joe did not see him using these venues during the period 1993 to 1999.
In the end Paterno turned out to be just one more arrogant head football coach. His first instinct on hearing of the Sandusky shower room rape of the boy was to protect his progam.
The Penn State rot runs wide and deep.
It’s the DA’s job to “get” all those involved in this perverse crime. We’re talking about the Penn State Board of Trustees and the Penn State executive leadership (including ex-pres. Spanier and predisessors) to include the football program leadership and the campus police. We’re talking about the possibility Sandusky was pimping these kids to big alumni doners. We’re talking about the State College Police and the Center County Grand Jury. We’re talking about the Pennsylvania State Police and judiciary and quite possibly the governor—past and present. The all failed in their reponsibility to protect these kids. Hell were at risk kids from dysfunctional.
With malice aforethought Sandusky set up his foundation with the express purpose of preying on these kids. And double hell, the judge that let Sandusky go with a “no cash” bail after he was finally charged was a volunteer for the foundation.
Given the breadth and depth of the moral rot, why would a DA attempt to limit his/her investigation? Every adult person and/or entity with responsibility for protecting the kids failed. Moreover, given the vast scope of the cover up—time, people and entities—why would a DA want to risk being accused of doing the same? My God, the first DA involved with this case went missing and is presumed dead. That may or may not be a result of the cover up. But the fact is, we don’t know.
Oh, and what about the kids? Aren’t they entitled to total justice? If you’re not sure about that then what does that say about you?
Yes , they are entitled to justice. But it my universe wanting to punish Sandusky is part of that justice. The biggest part, in fact. In my opinion, it will be a terrible failure if Sandusky ever leaves prison alive. Giving him "a deal," would mean he would probably get out. What does that say about you that you want this monster to, get a deal and not be punished to the fullest extent of the law? You can say terrible things about me, like you have, but I AM NOT ASHAMED THAT I THINK SANDUSKY SHOULD BE PUNISHED TO THE FULLEST extent of the law. No deals for this monster.
Given the breadth and depth of the moral rot, why would a DA attempt to limit his/her investigation?
Is English your first language? Please show me where I said anything about, limiting the investigation? I said that a D.A. should not lessen the punishment of Sandusky. Why are you trying to minimize his crimes?
Yo nickcarraway—Somehow I don’t get you’re only focus on Sandusky. I want to get everyone who aided, abetted and/or participated in these child abuse crimes. The most direct way to do that is to cut a deal with Sandusky.
You seem to believe “the deal” would somehow get Sandusky a “get out of jail free” card. Won’t happen. Shouldn’t happen. Don’t know what the maximum sentence would be for a serial child rapist and abuser. I don’t think the death penalty will apply—especially in Pennsylvania.
Probably amounts to a lot of years in jail with no chance for parole. Let’s say he gets fifty years in jail. The pervert is in his 50s or 60s by now. Even if they halve the sentence as part of the deal Sandusky does not leave jail alive. They might even throw in a chance for parole as sweetener knowing full well no parole board would not put a sex offender of this magnitude back out on the street. I’m sure neither of those things will happen because Sandusky—or his lawyer—will figure this out.
So what’s left? What’s left is where he will serve his time. It is said that sex offenders are treated harshly by other inmates. This includes beatings and rape. Sometimes they’re even killed. So the best Sandusky will be able to do is be incarcerated where he can be kept from the general population. That is what I think will happen.
Otherwise, Sandusky will have been prosecuted and sentenced to the fullest extent of the law. And in the process we’ll identify all or most of the people who aided, abetted and/or particpated in the depravity. Thus, they can be charged, prosecuted and sentenced to the fullest extent of the law as well. Isn’t this the ideal outcome?
