Bill O'Reilly has Frank on his show a couple of times a year. He commented last night that Frank was never pleasant to deal with (I forget the exact words but it was along the lines that he was a nasty and obnoxious person to deal with, always). Meanwhile Jon Stewart tried to suggest that one of the reasons conservatives didn't like Frank was that he is Jewish.

In 08 my home was finally paid off, and I had vowed thirty years earlier I wasn’t going to be house poor, (it would own me). Fortunately it worked out. That said, with the rise in prices over the years and the jump in mortgage payments from the 500 I was paying, to triple and quadruple that amount in later years without the corresponding increase in wages the economy could no longer support the system.
The really unfortunate problem is the Congress went right back to their affordable housing business, and are pressing forward as we speak. I am semi retired and worry about the years I and my wife have left. Like you, we saved, and my wife keeps bringing up those who don’t and didn’t and are reaping what looks like the windfall. Be that as it may we know that the wise do their best to husband their resources and have faith that in the end all will be well.
The great unknown, is the space between now and “the end”.
Hang in there, and don’t let that anchor sink you or your outlook and attitude. Barney will at some point have a lot of splainin to do. I’m sure of it.
Even Dana Milbank wrote an article after Frank retired basically saying that Frank personally was a complete jerk. Naturally Milbank neglected to name any of Frank’s many public and private indiscretions i.e. crimes including Frank’s activities involving the housing crisis. Frank should be doing hard time for his role in the financial disaster. Right next to Bill Clinton and all the other bad actors in that fiasco.
