Nuke Update: “China Will Not Hesitate To Protect Iran With A Third World War”
SHTF Plan ^ | 12/01/2011 | Mac Slavo

UPDATE: December 1, 2011; 10:00AM

Amid the tensions in Iran and the destruction of a second nuclear facility (which is detailed in the original story below), we find it necessary to present our readers with an update made available via The Daily Crux and Zero Hedge, in which Major General Zhang Zhaozhong, a professor from the Chinese National Defense University, said China “will not hesitate to protect Iran even with a third World War.”

Trillions of dollars in debt and regional energy resources are at play here. Perhaps this is the reason Iran is publicly downplaying the threat and the U.S. is overtly ignoring the latest bombing/explosion at a second Iranian nuclear facility. Not a single news report of the incident is present on the homepages of major media outlets like CNN, NBC, ABC or Fox. For their part, Iran completely denies the explosion took place and national media agencies have reportedly pulled all references to the story, even though satellite images (detailed below) confirm it happened.

Don’t miss this Chinese news report. Like the U.S., China has its own propaganda machine and this is what their populace is being fed:

(In Chinese with English subtitles):

ORIGINAL REPORT: Covert Op Suspected as Second Iranian Nuke Site Goes Up In Flames

Either Iran’s nuclear and military programs are headed by imbeciles or their country is under attack.

Though Iran completely denied the incident yesterday, The Australian reports that satellite images confirm another Iranian military site has exploded:

Satellite imagery seen by The Times confirmed that a blast that rocked the city of Isfahan on Monday struck the uranium enrichment facility there, despite denials by Tehran.

The images clearly showed billowing smoke and destruction, negating Iranian claims yesterday that no such explosion had taken place. Israeli intelligence officials told The Times that there was “no doubt” that the blast struck the nuclear facilities at Isfahan and that it was “no accident”.

The explosion at Iran’s third-largest city came as satellite images emerged of the damage caused by one at a military base outside Tehran two weeks ago that killed about 30 members of the Revolutionary Guard, including General Hassan Moghaddam, the head of the Iranian missile defence program.

Iran claimed that the Tehran explosion occurred during testing on a new weapons system designed to strike at Israel. But several Israeli officials have confirmed that the blast was intentional and part of an effort to target Iran’s nuclear weapons program.

On Monday, Isfahan residents reported a blast that shook tower blocks in the city at about 2.40pm and seeing a cloud of smoke rising over the nuclear facility on the edge of the city.

“This caused damage to the facilities in Isfahan, particularly to the elements we believe were involved in storage of raw materials,” said one military intelligence source.

He would not confirm or deny Israel’s involvement in the blast, instead saying that there were “many different parties looking to sabotage, stop or coerce Iran into stopping its nuclear weapons program”.

Iran went into frantic denial yesterday as news of the explosion at Isfahan emerged. Alireza Zaker-Isfahani, the city’s governor, claimed that the blast had been caused by a military exercise in the area but state-owned agencies in Tehran soon removed this story and issued a government denial that any explosion had taken place at all.

A government cover up? Say it ain’t so.

There’s a war on. This was no accident.

The real question is, how, if at all, will Iran respond? Are they biding their time because they are finalizing a nuclear weapon that they intend to deploy against Israel or Western targets, or has all the machisimo displayed by Iranian President Ahmadinejad in recent years been nothing but talk?

We may soon find out.

Actually, the radiation was detected over the Czech Republic (where I am).

Came from Hungary, apparently. The Hungarians deny it, of course, but the IAEA traced it back to a Hungarian source....a reactor at some university, I believe.

But I think for the Chinese, covert military action is acceptable. You know, deniability and all that.

I think you have hit it there. As long as the bombs are delivered by covert Mossad/Hamas rather than missiles China is OK. As long as oil keep flowing out of the Persian gulf and into Chinese ports China doesn't care how many Iranian missile bases get flattened. But the spice must flow.

The only way the chinks could wipe out 300 Mill Americans is by tricking us into eating their poison dog treats. They may have nukes, but they sure don’t have thsat much delivery other than MARCHING over here carrying 1000 nukes on their back.

But of cource with our dear leader nobama, he might give them free cruise ship passage.

WWIII began 9/11/01. We have been in an intermediate period since then. The obvious shooting war cannot be too far out from here.

"We will need the Chinese soldiers for the blood to reach bridle deep on the plains of Megiddo."

Amen brother, but the toughest of times between now and then.

True enough....the Chinese are woefully lacking in ICBM capability.

But of course, all it takes is one SRBM or MRBM launched from some coast with a megatonnage yield weapon detonated 400 kilometers up over Oklahoma (IIRC) would pretty much be all she wrote for the US electric power grid.....as someone put, it would instantly blow us back to the mid 19th Century.

Mind you, the NorKs could pull that off as well. Well, if they had viable nukes, that is.

But for the above, I’d say China is pretty well equipped. But like you said, maybe Obama will give them free cruise ship passage to carry out their mission.

China has between 20-30 ICBMs. The 20 DF-5 missiles, can have as many as six warheads. They can hit anyplace in the US, but are an older design and take over an hour to prep for launch. Considering that our LGM-30s will be impacting 30 minutes after the first launch detect this limits their usefulness in anything other than a first strike.
The DF-31 missiles have shorter range and only carry a single warhead. But they are a modern solid fuel, quick launch design. They have shown up in parades, but nobody knows if they have actually been deployed operationally or if it was just a test vehicle for the more advanced DF-41.

They also have 24 JL-2 SLBMs. However the subs they are deployed on haven't left port in some time and are not believed to be serviceable. They were described by US submariners as being sufficiently noisy that having a marching band in the missile compartment wouldn't have made much of a difference. Again other than first strike they would be of limited use as they would not live long once the shooting began.

The spice must always flow.

The Chinese are more worried about an overt war breaking out. Covert war, not so much. With the covert war, when the Iranians come whining to them, the Chinese can say, “Well, maybe you shouldn’t be such a bunch of butterfingers over there. Nuclear materials are dangerous, after all.”

It affords them the opportunity of looking the other way.

Of course, I also wonder if all the talk out of Israel lately is designed to simply keep the Iranians expecting an overt assault that never comes. It forces them to divert (mostly intelligence) resources to detecting the first sign of an airborne assault. While the Iranians are out there keeping an eye on their Western horizon, the Israelis (or Iranian agents in the Israelis employ) are blowing things up while Iranian intel is distracted.

It’s a good diversionary strategy, and because Israel lacks geographical depth, it’s evolved and adapted to take on it’s foes asymmetrically.

Oh I'm sure we would never do something like that. /sarc. After all the moment someone gets smacked by a big tungsten pole going mach 25 they would know it had Made in USA written all over it. On the other hand if you constructed it out of nickle iron it would lose some punch, but it would be hard to tell the RFG from a meteor strike. Brings a whole new level of deniability.

Heck if you are not in a hurry 99942 Apophis will be back in 2013. Just a little nudge and we could put that 27 million metric ton dino smasher right into the Middle East at 30 km/s. It is one of those thoughts that Just makes you feel warm and happy all over :)

Yep. They're the only ones that can provide the 200 million man army.

I get the feeling that if obama sat on his hands, there is a contingency in-place for DOD C&C to launch.

Not sure how they would get so far in as over Oklahoma, but again I fall back on first paragraph scenario.

They might smoke Taiwan, but the Chinese have 5000 years of capitalism and only 60 years of communism, am thinking sales win over protecting the squirrels in Iran or starting WW3 for any reason short of a really massive strike incoming.
