When I first started re-looking at Perry since The Lord was moving me to support him and moving me away from supporting Sarah Palin. That is one of things I came across and read about. People that were friends of his talked of how he’d had this experience with The Lord and was a completely different man, he was truly changed. Several called it a God thing. LOL..

“The stampede to Newt is MORE than mindless and desperate.”

You speak Truth. however, really we have no options. Perry isn’t much more of a newt than a salamander.

All of “our” republicans don’t satisfy anyone’s expectations or America’s needs or vision. We have Obama in the office and this is the field we play up?

I’m honestly so depressed about this election. There is nothing, no leaders...just same old same old. Might as well be running mclame or dole again.

Have to say; am not impressed by candidates who do not take themselves, somewhat seriously while depending on the trust and monies of a constituency they are trying to serve and win votes from.

Would add as well; that given the direction Perry is going; would think 'serious' might be something to consider. Seems his constituency does not take him very seriously, either.

Know one thing; America had better get 'serious' about 2012. We are in a war, for America's future.

And considering the support here for Cain, it says a lot about the ‘conservatives’ here... ...since they are the ones going to Newt.

What does it say? That they want someone who writes his own message; rahter than just approve it?

Would add; that given the 'gaffs' a day from our present Prez; that many of us out here, simply cannot laugh along with Perry.

Enough with the self-depracation; Obama has done that 'for' us. (Of couse, Obama never goes there; personally; as does Perry; as Obama, we know is not just a narcissist; but a mega - if not psychopathic - narcissist.

Granted and Good. . .that this is not Perry's problem. No doubt about Perry as authentic 'nice-guy'.

You really can’t follow the logic behind my statement?

1. Cain supporters are abandoning him to support Newt, who is not a conservative.
2. There are many Cain supporters here.
3. Therefore, many of our Cain supporters here are now supporting Newt, who is not a conservative.

=

4. Just how conservative are you really if you can support someone who is not a conservative?

Not sure I follow your logic; save that it appears your only criteria is 'how Conservative' without considering, how competent and with that; how electable. . .

Newt is more Conservative than Mitt, for one thing. And he is smarter than Mitt, for that matter. And both Newt and Mitt; singularly or combined; smarter, of course, than Perry or Cain (who suffers his own brand of oops, by his response to accusations; and worse; to policy questions whereby he offers that there ARE better minds; that he will consult, for answers) Sorry; one thing to solicit 'good advise'; another to depend on it. .

Conservative values certainly matter. Competency of Leadership, matters as well. We need authentic leadership for our Country and in the world; to stand with/for - and against; whatever that world leadership invites. We are in dire straights and we need; a 'mind' on the ground; ready to dismantle the socialist/communist architecture that now frames our Government; our Education our healthcare. A socialism which damns Capitalism/Free Markets; and damns as well; the freedoms of every American and the inalienable rights of all. This requires talents well beyond 'corporate'. It requires an understanding of history and it requires 'vision'. Don't think Mitt is 'there'; certain Perry is not. MIchelle Bachman is probably next closest; but little support. (Perhaps she will have a place in Newt's Cabinet. . .and maybe a job somewhere, for Santorum. . .)

And like it or not; we need someone who can debate Obama and win; by the articulation of superior ideas. Rick Perry CANNOT do that; nor can Caine.

(Might add too; that people still mention Michelle Bachman or Rick Santorum; who for 'whatever reasons' cannot generate enough enthusiasm from their own Conservative base; and so cannot be considered electable in 2012! All to say; we must 'move on' here!) Sorry and again; no time for tutorials or mentoring - and for an abundance of 'oops' factors. Time is a luxury, that America does not have.

Have given up on the 'perfect Conservative' or perfect candidate; but do want the best candidate to serve our Country and be brave and bold enough, to take on our enemies; both foreign - and domestic.

BTW. . .per last 'mention/post and response'. . .rather than dismiss Newt as NOT a Conservative; why not personally check out his his platform/solutions at campaign site (link below) AND/OR; just check out 'Newt on the Issues'; (link below) whereby 'at a glance' Newt's position on issues; his books authored are readily available.

Perhaps when you think 'Conservative' you will see at least a glass half full (or even more); rather than half empty.

Whatever/however the case; Newt's Conservative credentials; cannot be honestly denied. And the move from Cain to Newt; speaks to that fact; among others.
