[In fact, the embattled presidential candidate said, his wife, Gloria, “did not know that we were friends until she (White) came out with this story.”]
Well darned, early today all the threads were insisting ‘he said his wife knew’. In fact they were QUITE insistent about it!
Reading through the thread, most of you would dump him if he had cheated but not if he were truly innocent.
To me, I assume there was at some time a dalliance, but still would support him because the Dems get to keep their cheating spouse candidates without the anal exam; why can’t we? They said sex didn’t matter for Clinton, and they ignored all the evidence about Edwards and Obama.
But Herman should get out there and tell America that he’s caused pain in his marriage and give no details because it’s not our business, and smack the MSM for their double standard.
My sense is that this was blackmail over the past six weeks and that there was some kind of relationship, probably a decade ago, that gave Ms. Wilson the incentive to blackmail. There is no evidence of a regular relationship, or regular payments, over thirteen years, except in Ms. Wilson’s allegations. Cain acknowledged payments, but they could have been limited to a decade ago and a month ago. We do not know the depth or duration of the previous, i.e. prior to this October, relationship. For that reason, I cannot assess the propriety of Cain’s non-disclosure to his wife. The onus is now on Cain, however, to complete the picture. If he does not do so in the next forty-eight hours, then, it is over. Until then we, and partricularly the Robespierres on this thread, must suspend judgement.
There are more problems with this guy. I am surprised they haven’t come out yet, but if he stays in, I imagine they just might.
Is this the straw that broke the camel’s back? I think we are looking at it.
It’s like the relationship between Major Frank Burns and Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan. Frank promised Hot Lips he would get her an apartment close to his medical practice and he would help pay her rent at $100. Margaret gets steamed and says she’s getting more than $100 a month from the Army and Frank counters that he can’t outbid Uncle Sam. She kicks him out of her tent.
