Rep. Darrell Issa, who has been investigating the Fast and Furious operation for nearly a year, declined on Friday to call for Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to resign over the botched undercover probe that led to hundreds of weapons being “walked” to gun smugglers in Mexico.
Mr. Issa, California Republican, said the operation is not about Mr. Holder or Assistant Attorney General Lanny Breuer, the head of the Justice Department’s criminal division, both of whom he has criticized strongly over their handling of the failed Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive’s (ATF) investigation.
“It is not about one person,” said Mr. Issa, chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, during a breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor.
“It is about a failure that seems to be pervasive within Justice that investigations play fast and loose with the expectations of what is right or wrong when it comes to what I am going to call collateral damage,” he said.
In addition to as many as 1,400 weapons that found their way into Mexico, other guns — including AK-47 semi-automatic assault rifles — have been found at crimes scenes, including two at the site of the shooting death of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian A. Terry, killed during a gunfight with Mexicans just north of the border near Nogales, Ariz.

This is why any outsider who runs for POTUS will be destroyed. The Insiders/Establishment can only work w other insiders who know how ‘business’ in DC is conducted. If an outsider runs, the other party will tear him or her to shreds while their own party stands silently by, secretly cheering them on.

Wouldn’t surprise me in the least if Holder operatives in the Bureau dug up some blackmail-worthy dirt on Issa.
I think he got an offer he could not refuse..we have lost our country and no longer can hold elected folks accountable..

I think Issa should continue to grill the Untermenschen at Justice and ATF just to see if one of them has something that would nail Obama himself.

This is much better as a campaign issue NOW. We win we can prosecute and hang later.
I have no words that truly express my anger and frustration over where this country is headed.
Holder should have been fired after the his first day on the job when he indicted the American public as “a nation of cowards.” Barry still finds Holder faultless, which is why neither of them are up to the task of public office.

At the least, I think Issa has planned not to go after Holder or Obama.
In this or one of those other articles on Drudge, Issa implied that he’ll go after the cover-up....
BUT now that Holder has “fomerly” withdrawn his “misleading and inaccurate” letter & dumped 1300pgs into Congress’ collective lap on the “deliberative process” that led to Holder’s creation of that “misleading” letter, I suspect that discussions are going on about what Holder has to do to keep from being indicted.

WEASEL WORDS! The fbi was involved in this up to its eyeballs and is at least partially responsible for Brian Terry’s death.

Seriously, understatement is best at this time. Why tell the enemy everything you're going to do to them.
Drag this investigation out until four weeks before the election, and then drop the treason and murder charges against obuma and holder.
It seems that is quite a coincidental timing to take a vacation. Would I be too forward in guessing that Obama is distancing himself, while Holder is getting ready to resign?
