George McGovern Hospitalized After Fall

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) — Former Democratic presidential candidate George McGovern was hospitalized Friday after he fell and hit his head on the pavement outside of a library bearing his name, where he was set to be interviewed on C-SPAN.

McGovern's daughter Ann McGovern said her father was to be treated at a Sioux Falls hospital after being flown by helicopter from Mitchell, S.D., where the live interview was to take place at the Dakota Wesleyan University's McGovern Library.

"He had just walked from home to the center. He lives literally just across the street," Ann McGovern told The Associated Press.

McGovern has lived in St. Augustine, Fla., since 2008 but also has a home in Mitchell.

Friends and faculty who had gathered at the library for the C-SPAN taping said McGovern fell at about 5:15 p.m. — less than two hours before the program began. A former South Dakota senator, McGovern, 89, was "bleeding profusely" but was conscious and talking as he was taken from the university by ambulance, said Donald Simmons, dean of the College of Public Service.

McGovern was a B-24 of B-25 bomber pilot during WW2 and flew missions in the Adriatic region (Italy, Romania?, Yugoslavia, etc). His plane was forced down on an island in the Adriatice controlled by Comrade Tito’s “Partisans” and McGOvern was treated well by them.

He came back to the US with glowing praise for Tito and his red forces and helped betray the true American ally in Yugoslavia, Gen. Milhailovic and his Chetnik forces, who saved over 400 American (and perhaps other allied fliers) who went down in German-controlled Yugoslavia.

McGovern net met a red he didn’t like, and you can take that to the bank.

Also, besides his betrayals on Vietnam, he was also a strong proponent of open borders/immigration (wiping out the anti-communist clauses) which allowed all kinds of pro-communist and jihadist terrorists to come into the US when the hardcore sections of the Walter-McCarren Immigration Act were wiped out.

He was a traitor despite what he did during WW2. Look at him as a modern Benedict Arnold. If the analogy fits, wear it. it does.

He fell down because he was leaning way too far to the left.

Remember the good old days,,,when chicks on the side kept the secret when they had good times in return? Not the same with this modern generation of gold digging fame seekers. They’ll turn on a guy even if he treated em well,,,

Just sayin’

In that pic she conveys the intellectual wattage of a nightlight.

Why is that such a turn-on for men?

He flew the B-24 and Stephen Ambrose wrote about him in one of his books...
