When I was a child, there was a family that fell on bad times.
My Father asked that the congregation help the family out.
He was mocked by the preacher in front of the congregation.
Well, he left that church and gave his tithe to that family, but he sure as heck discussed it and prayed over that decision with my Mother.
He remained a Christian man all his life, the experience never soured him on his faith.
And that family became lifelong friends.

He didn’t really say that- he said he was going to announce the “next steps” he was taking.
Unfortunately, what we don’t know or hear, is the insider scuttlebutt— and in reading the media, I just think all the professionals (not media, just pol insiders) have given up on him. He talks of it as 3 classes- media, political and people. He has he’s big with the people, but the media is causing a “cloud” with the insiders (money).
He may have hid it because he has helped out others and got burnt and Mrs. Cain did not want him to do it anymore.
I am quite familiar with this kind of problem from my better half being too generous.

Really good—Interesting, about a week ago a poll came out showing Newt taking the lead and Cain falling back— but among 18-29 yr old, Cain led them all 36%- the next guy was down in the single digits. Maybe youngsters are his group?
You’re right.I’ll bet he’s suckering the media into making fools of themselves and getting some excellent publicity at the same time. The man is not a quiter.
Her comments when asked where they were meeting and how many, she keeps saying a couple of times and never has any specifics. She would be crushed in a deposition.

I wonder if Cain’s big announcement (with major supporters in attendance) could be that he intends to file a defamation suit(s) if he continues his campaign and therefore intends to ask them if/how they want to proceed. He’d need their money and support for any legal challenge. If they say “no more money,” then he must decide whether or not he can continue his campaign without clearing his name. Perhaps the reassessment is just that - a reassessment of his campaign options: move on with lawsuit, move on without lawsuit, suspend, or withdraw.
(No, I’m not a Cain supporter or a fan.)

What’s wrong with what Newt said in that clip? Due to Medicare the gov’t will be the largest purchaser of medical services. Therefore Medicare must be reformed -that’s what he was saying.
So why doesn’t Cain use Lin Wood to sue and ask for discovery?
No he does not need any money to go after media, press and radio... (deep pockets), an atty would do it on contingency, with a percentage, so lets say you sue for about $200,000,000, and the percent cut is 30%, the atty makes $60,000,000. Of course the amts will be lower from settlement but it is still worth it to do contingency.
