While most Americans are lucky to get a few weeks of holiday every year, it seems the country’s leader gets a little more freedom in the matter.
President Barack Obama has announced his Christmas vacation to Hawaii – for a staggering 17-day trip.
Obama, who visited the island just two weeks ago for an economic summit, will head to Honolulu on Saturday December 17 until Monday January 2.
The president, who was raised in Hawaii until he was six, will be joined by his wife Michelle and their daughters, Malia, 13, and Sasha, 10.
The White House travel office announced the president has no public events scheduled for the trip.
The President's family covers the cost of a private beach front residence in Kailua, Oahu, for their vacation - a ‘Winter White House’ that costs up to $3,500 a day, or $75,000 a month.
But the local and federal taxpayers help pay the bill for travel and security.

I post quite a few articles every week from The Daily Mail.
They’re often the 1st to report news here.
Hopefully, we won’t have to see or hear him everyday spouting off, preaching to us about the evil Republicans.
This guy is an absolute fraud.
While almost every American looks at the last years and wonders when they will EVER be able to take a TWO WEEK VACATION again.

Perhaps 17 days is not long enough? How can the country recover in only 17 days?
Hussein’s pattern is familiar....long periods of recreation followed by very intense efforts to destroyed liberty and campaign for his perverted world view. All the while his cult keeps the “Things are getting better” lie alive.
What, is the position of president just a figurehead?
How on earth is he authorized 17 days off, and his travel expense for personal business reimbursed by federal funds?
Why does our Congress allow this?
Seriously. This individual is an EMPLOYEE of the U.S. Government. Military having to take huge cuts. Huge cuts everywhere else.
Why, why, why????? He has no need or right to constantly vacation and travel in this manner.
Most people receive 30 days off per year or so. That is all the office of the present should require. He is in a totally ESSENTIAL position and should not be granted so many days for vacation. My military officer husband has 60 days of leave built up becuase he can NEVER take time off like this from his job.
I’m so SICK of hearing how this first family is constantly on some sort of break. They live in utter luxury year round. They do not need any more “breaks.”
We as Americans have only ourselves to blame. We have allowed this to occur, and allowed moochers like the Obamas to take advantage of it. TIME TO ENACT LAWS against it.

I wish he would take 90 days. Heck stay there until January 20th. Seriously, we have to pay for him and his family anyway, I would rather him be away from Washington DC and yes Hawaii is expensive, but overall cheaper than what he would spend in DC.

Obama’s vacations are a golden opportunity for the Republican candidates to exploit.
They should be shouting from the rooftops, repeating endlessly on every talkshow interview they get on, taking out newspaper ads, about how lazy and incompetent Obama is. This issue is a SURE-FIRE WINNER with a citizenry that’s hard-hit economically - and even if the Democrats have billions and the LSM in their pocket, they simply cannot win on this!! It’s there for the taking!!
So why the hell don’t the Republicans exploit this?!
