Egypt's ElBaradei: Liberals 'decimated' in vote

CAIRO (AP) -- Egypt's top reformist leader said Sunday the liberal youth behind the country's uprising have been "decimated" in parliamentary elections dominated by Islamists and expressed concern about the rise of hard-line religious elements advocating extremist ideas such as banning women from driving.

Mohamed ElBaradei, a Nobel Prize laureate and possible presidential candidate, said he hopes moderate Islamists will rein in the extremists and send a reassuring message to the world that Egypt will not go down an ultraconservative religious path.

The only thing ElBaradei is sore about is him not being the leader of Egypt now. It's so funny that the IAEA suddenly is worried about Iran after his departure, yes? There are no moderates in Egypt, and ElBaradei knows this—and he's showed his own true jihadist colors more than once.

Often in our self-perceived vocation as the torch-bearers of freedom and democracy, we tend to lose sight not only of the limited power of politically engineered change in an Islamic country such as Egypt, but of that simple truism that no society can ever live outside the parameters of its basic ideology.

If we truly wished to free these oppressed people then we would need to defeat that very thing that enslaves them.

To El Baradei:

You sowed it.

Now reap it.

And by the way, Go to Hell.

While I haven’t stayed up-to-date with Ann Coulter lately I did like her comment back in 2001. Something to the effect of “Invade their countries, kill the leaders, convert them to Christianity”.

Good luck with that.

“Something to the effect of “Invade their countries, kill the leaders, convert them to Christianity”.”

Sounded like a plan at the time, but since then we’ve let millions more of them into our country while they’ve stayed in the 7th century. Oddly enough, our first targets in the War On Islam were the moderates (Saddam Hussein, Quaddafi, Mubarak) while we defend the worst Islamists (Saudi Arabia, Kuwait).

Was it not enough that el Baradei gave Iran
nuclear weapons through the IAEA?

Now the IAEA will give the el Baradei nuclear weapon
to Egypt and Ikhwan.

Egypt’s economy will collapse completely within 6 months.

‘Collapse’ meaning no bread and no grain products available at any price to 70% of the population.

Between now and the collapse, the military and intelligence apparatus are actively looting the remaining stores of wealth in the country, and sending their families overseas.

Egypt will cease to exist as a modern state once the current infrastructure crumbles.

And that is the end of this story barring some Great Revival of the lost generations of Egypt’s poor and displaced.

Considering the large numbers of stupid and ignorant people in most mid-east Islamic countries, the events are no surprise. Or shouldn’t be a surprise.
