It’s an Obama World/Walter Reed Hospit. Bars Family Members From Bringing Bibles to Injured Soldiers

It’s an Obama world. While we were preoccupied with other disastrous Obama policies, military bureaucrats under Barack Obama passed a new rule that barred loved ones from bringing Bibles to wounded soldiers.

The US Military says they are rescinding the order but only after a Republican lawmaker denounced the policy on the House floor. Todd Starnes reported:

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center said they are rescinding a policy that prohibits family members of wounded military troops from bringing Bibles or any religious reading materials to their loved ones.

The decision to rescind the ban on Bibles came exactly one day after a Republican lawmaker denounced the policy on the House floor and called on President Obama to publicly renounce the military policy.

“The President of the United States should address this and should excoriate the people who brought about this policy and the individual who brought it about should be dismissed from the United States Military,” Rep. Steve King (R-IA) told Fox News & Commentary.

King spoke from the House floor Thursday blasting a policy memorandum from the commander of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center written by Chief of Staff C.W. Callahan. The September 14th memo covers guidelines for “wounded, ill, and injured partners in care.”

Just rip out a Koran and place the Bible inside it.

Or "Heather Has Two Mommies."

This is ridiculous. I never thought I’d see the day when the USA turned into North Korea.

They are probing, pushing the envelope, testing the limits.... When a patriotic AMERICAN speaks out, however, the Communists back down.

Wouldn’t this be against freedom of religion?

The US Constitution guarantees freedom FROM religion.

It's right in there.

You just can't see it because it is a living document.

Actually, if you translate that from Orwellian Duckspeak, it's more like "You just can't see it because it is a dying document." They'll kill it if they can.

You could have changed “PLD” to “Sport” and that would have been my response, almost word for word. I, too, after swearing that I would not vote for Mc Cain, after he picked Sarah, I voted for him. I am plesed to make your acquaintance,My FRiend. I useally avoid using profanity, but when it comes to describing obama voters, it comes naturally.

LOL!Thank you, and I am please to make your acquaintance...

I have tried to keep my temper and not say bad words but there is just something about Obama, his thugs, and the whole democrat party that make me say awful words but I think the words I call them fit perfectly..I didn't learn most of the words until Obama and thugs came into power.

Just a reminder: None of the military hospitals will accept mail that is not addressed to a specific service member. Back in 2005 they used to deliver such mail but several wounded heroes received cards with nasty messages inside. So the hospitals decided “any servicemember” mail had to be opened and screened first, but then discovered that so much support mail was received they couldn’t keep up with it, even if ambulatory, recuperating soldiers were “recruited” to assist in the screening. (I met the young soldier referred to in the following link and I can confirm this isn’t an “urban legend”: http://www.theodoresworld.net/archives/2005/12/

My recommendation, to make an impact, is to send the Deputy Commander named above large manila envelopes filled with UNSEALED Christmas cards. Include a cover letter stating you know that security for the hospital is important so you’re asking him to distribute the cards after he reviews them.
