We need a Christmas card sending project to the soldiers there. And in AfgPak, Kuwait and Iraq. Cards need to drop like snow in a blizzard.

With religious messages.

Just rip out a Koran and place the Bible inside it. It’ll be passed through with no problem.

Make no mistake! Obama and his sycophants are ANTI-RELIGIOUS to their core. Marxists only believe in the STATE and its supremacy.

..."military bureaucrats under Barack Obama passed a new rule that barred loved ones from bringing Bibles to wounded soldiers..."

Of course how else are they going to have a military full queers with the Bible making it more difficult?.. so it must be eliminated.

But what really surprises me is how meekly, cowardly the response of our "religious institutions" have been... beginning with my own (culturally). Are you telling me that all these religious institutions can not organize and present some opposition?...

What a bunch of wimps they are (with a few exceptions of course.)

PS - Walter Reed hospital is acting just like North Korea and Soviet Russia - next we’ll have people tying scripture to balloons to float over the walls there.

Patterns of behavior reveal undeniable truths. Obama hates everything that made America great. You’ll hear from pundits long after this ordeal is over that zero “tried to do too much” in his first term. Ha! They tried to do too much at the Wellstone funeral, OWS, and in Wisconsin, too. Poor souls. F-em. May God give us enough grace as a nation to get past this horrible mistake.

Obama passed a new rule that barred loved ones from bringing Bibles to wounded soldiers.

This is a direct violation of Freedom of Religion and there's no way in hell that usurping, kenyan, muslim, marxist, SOB 0bama, or any of his minions, has the right to do this!

Do it anyway and keep doing it.

Give the “Obama Salute” to anyone who objects.

Take names and ADDRESSES of anyone who objects.

Then do something about it.

Camp out in their front lawns. Take smelly Obamas on their cars.

It’s time to play liberal...because the constitution no longer appears to matter.

From the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center website:

Thank you for your interest in the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. We apologize for any confusion that resulted from our policy. In no way was the instruction meant to prohibit family members from providing religious items to their love ones. The intent of the instruction was to respect the religious and cultural practices of all of our patients. We are drafting a new instruction that will clearly articulate our respect for religious and cultural practices of all of our patients and families.

Again, we regret any confusion that this might have caused and we thank you for your support of our Warriors and their families.

On behalf of the Command...

This jackass needs to be immediately cashiered out of the Army, and, if he is also a physician, out of the practice of medicine as well. There is NO excuse for this kind of policy on the part of ANYONE in authority in this country.

In accordance with the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure recommendations, an Office of Integration (OI) was formed in November 2005 to oversee the merger of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC) and the National Naval Medical Center (NNMC). That merged facility will be staffed by Army, Navy, and Air Force medical personnel and will be the core of an integrated military medicine system in the National Capital Region (NCR). What in 2005 were three medical centers, a small community hospital, and 19 clinics offering medical care to military beneficiaries in the NCR will become, with oversight of the OI, a single tri-service medical center, a large tri-service hospital in Northern Virginia, and 20 area clinics

Groundbreaking took place on July 3, 2008 with President George W. Bush officiating.

The US Constitution guarantees freedom FROM religion.

It's right in there.

You just can't see it because it is a living document.

Just a reminder: None of the military hospitals will accept mail that is not addressed to a specific service member. Back in 2005 they used to deliver such mail but several wounded heroes received cards with nasty messages inside. So the hospitals decided “any servicemember” mail had to be opened and screened first, but then discovered that so much support mail was received they couldn’t keep up with it, even if ambulatory, recuperating soldiers were “recruited” to assist in the screening. (I met the young soldier referred to in the following link and I can confirm this isn’t an “urban legend”: http://www.theodoresworld.net/archives/2005/12/

My recommendation, to make an impact, is to send the Deputy Commander named above large manila envelopes filled with UNSEALED Christmas cards. Include a cover letter stating you know that security for the hospital is important so you’re asking him to distribute the cards after he reviews them.

If they only meant to ban distribution of free Bibles and other items to one and sundry, so as not to offend other religions by taking advantage of a captive community of injured and ill service personnel, I can sort of understand. But that SURE isn't the way it was worded. At best, this was an example of gross incompetence, and insensitivity toward Christians.

Sounds like something Obama would do! lol Having said that, how can they deny family members from bringing a bible in to a loved one? I could understand preventing people from forcing a bible onto someone that didn't want it, but a family member?
