What Are the Most Dangerous Shows Your Kids Are Watching Without You?
Foxnews ^ | 12/05/2011 | By Jo Piazza

With more devices than ever that stream television content — including iPads, smart phones, computers, and plain old TVs — the ability of parents to police their kids' viewing habits has eroded significantly. This can be particularly concerning to parents who don't want their children watching television shows featuring sex, drugs, and violence, with nary a consequence in sight.

I am very careful about what my boy watches. We have a family cable package to help weed out harmful programs and as an IT professional, we lets just say I manage my home internet very closely.

I don't want my kid exposed to the garbage coming out of Hollywood or the Liberal message attached to it.

To show everyone how screwed up the Liberal mentality is, here is a comment regarding this topic posted on Foxnews no less:

"As a hardcore lib with no respect for "family programming", I of course disagree with every show being on this list except one - 16 and pregnant. This show is a problem for kids because it doesnt properly show that you can get an abortion. At least a few girls on the show should be filmed after they abort their fetus. Kids should know that if they get pregnant, they can get an abortion and then their life will go back to normal. So I think its a bad message to show 16 yearolds having babies when abortion is likely the better option."

How disgusting is that!!

And these are the people we are supposed to "compromise" with!

The media in America is a sewer, a dishonest one at that.

the Most Dangerous Show...

Is Sesame Street. It's main purpose is to teach our kids how to watch TV, teach them how to operate a remote control, and how they can lead a life dominated by the idiot box.

I like American Horror Story, but yeah, it’s not for kids.

American Dad is not very good. The rest of those shows are utter trash.

Is there some kind of law that requires me to have a TV in my home?

If not, I’m in good shape as I managed to raise kids without a TV in the house.

Kids should know that if they get pregnant, they can get an abortion and then their life will go back to normal.

My wife and I know women who have had abortions, for most their lives never get back to normal.

What young girls should know is that they may have messed up and gotten pregnant before marriage, but God loves them and their babies, they should never kill what God loves.

None of my daughters have ever gotten pregnant outside of marriage, but if one did, God help anyone who kills my grandchild. That would be my grandchild in her womb and it had best be born alive.

In some ways, such as the state of TV, I wish we could turn back the clock to 1960.

I wish the worst issue to debate was whether we could see Barbara Eden’s belly button in “I Dream of Jeannie”.

Can you imagine a show like “Gilligan’s Island” today? My God, just imagine the pairings up we would see. You know what I mean. And who would be the obligatory gay character if they made that show today?

When my wife was pregnant we visited friends who had a six month old and we both noticed how at six months that baby was drawn to the TV.

We went home and without saying a word, I unplugged to TV and dumped it at the curb. I then went to bed and the wife asked if I got rid of the TV.

Mrs. JohnnyP bought some of the Have Gun Will Travel videos for me. Very surprised to see how touchy-feely he was.

She also bought some Hop A Long Cassidy videos. Way different from how I remember him as a kid. He didn’t wait until he was attacked. He dropped the bad guys without warning, by fist or by gun.

I had never seen the show before, but my young adult son was home watching it the other night... I was slightly curious from the other room, because it sounded rather crazy. So he asked me to watch the last 15 minutes of the season finale...and frankly, it was scary, gory...and strangely moving.
I would NOT let younger teens watch it though.

We evaluate tv this way: would we invite these people into our home for thirty minutes or an hour every week? If the answer is no, we change the channel. Pretty easy metric to use.

We don’t have cable or much broadcast reception - PBS comes in, when the weather is right - so our children can see what we have on DVD or what we’ve made available on Netflix streaming. If they’ve turned on the television without permission, it’s usually “Mythbusters” or “Man vs. Food.”

One of the great things about Netflix is that the website tells me exactly what’s been watched on our account. If anyone turns on something their Dad or I didn’t load, he or she gets a boatload of restrictions and extra chores.

***‘Have Gun Will Travel’ and ‘Combat!’ Just terrible stuff....***

When John Kennedy was shot the media blamed TV violence, movie violence and comic books.
Nothing was done except to call for the registration of guns.

When Bobby Kennedy was shot, the media blamed TV violence, Movie violence and comic books.

TV shows immediatly dumbed down. Adult westerns became kiddie shows. Some comic books changed their format for a short while, and movie makers said they would “police themselves” and placed a joke of a rating system to keep kids out of certain movies.
As a result, movies simply became more violent and more sexual oriented.

They also passed that travesty the 1968 Gun Control Act into law.
Today, TV shows and movies and comic books are more violent and sexually oriented than ever.

“What about The Walking Dead? Should pre-teens be allowed to watch this? Teenagers?”

Fairly liberal messages in that show; I stopped watching after 2 episodes had shooting accidents/mistakes, and the “diversity” characters are the solid “good guys” while the questionable ones are “white guys”.

If they watch it understand they are being sold on ideas & themes.

Compilation of Lucas McCain’s ‘Greatest Hits’, (shootouts of course!!), Check out a young Vic Morrow in the opening clip and Sammy Davis Jr. vrs. the Rifleman at the 2 minute mark. Thanks for the link

I was most impressed with the Riflemans ability to shoot sitting / standing / running /off his back or rolling ... and then there was the Hollywood when he shot the guy in the hand.
The other Hollywood trick was that his Rifle supposedly fired each time it cocked and yet he could twirl it and then pull the trigger...

Fun to watch ... have to watch it again, didn’t see Sammy Davis (One of my all time Favs)
