Notice the difference - Having an affair, while not a nice thing to do to your spouse, is not illegal, you don't get arrested or go to jail. Smoking crack IS illegal, a felony in fact, if caught you DO get arrested and go to jail. Yet the media obsesses about Herman Cain's affairs and proclaims them reason to disqualify him from being President - yet the same media didn't utter ONE PEEP about Obama's hard-drug use during the 2008 election - and still won't.
AND BY THE WAY, Obama violated TWO federal drug laws - not just for using, but also for buying. Repeatedly, over the span of several years.
They ignored these obvious red-flags that Obama was an idiot, presenting him to the public as a "legitimate leader" - excuse me while I belly-laugh - and they continue to keep in a protective cocoon, safe from all criticism. So the idiocy is allowed to continue, to the detriment of the country.

Better question. The press knew all about John Edwards but refused to even hint at the story until after the Iowa caucuses. Had he been outed before it is believed most of his supporters would have voted Hillary, and her winning in Iowa and later NH would end Obama’s hope ay winning the nomination.

We as a country had gone a half of a century from Luis Armstrong, a genius musician, accepted only because he played the goofy grinning Negro, through acceptance of mediocre black actors and musicians, to the promotion of black incompetents in business and government to the POTUS, where no vetting of any kind was performed, and no questions were asked. The media is not about covering scandals. They are about getting liberal democrats elected. Look at everything they cover / don’t cover from the that lens and it all begins to make sense.
Somehow, I don’t think he’s going to get a free pass this time around. Not from the candidates anyway.
