The Jerusalem District Court sentenced David Mizrachi of Kiryat Arba to three months' community service for running over a terrorist who stabbed his wife. Mizrachi, 57, was convicted in June of serious assault as part of a plea bargain, and the sentence was handed down Tuesday.
The incident took place at the gas station at the entrance to Kiryat Arba in November of 2009. The terrorist, Wasim Maswada, came to the Paz gas station armed with an axe and a knife. He entered the convenience store that Mizrachi ran along with his wife, Tamar, and stabbed Tamar in the neck with the knife. She called her husband on the phone and said "I am being stabbed!"
The terrorist then accosted a man who was fueling his car and stabbed him in the back of the neck. A security guard at the station fired at the terrorist and hit him. Three soldiers then approached Maswada and stood guard over him, but he got up and tried to stab the soldiers. They fired several bullets at his legs and he fell to the ground, wounded.
According to the charge sheet, at a certain point Mizrachi arrived, got into his car and drove toward Maswada. He asked the soldiers "Is that the terrorist?" and they answered in the affirmative. He then drove back and forth over him until the soldiers forced him to stop. The terrorist has since recovered from his injuries and is to stand trial for his offenses.

He asked the soldiers “Is that the terrorist?” and they answered in the affirmative. He then drove back and forth over him until the soldiers forced him to stop.
You just have to laugh.
He drove “back and forth over him,” but he recovered?
Must have been a Chevy Volt or something similar.
Sounds like the soldiers weren't in too much of a hurry. "Hey guys, as soon as we finish this smoke break we probably ought to stop that dude."
Who will kick in $20 each to buy this guy a bigger vehicle; such as a Hummer?
I agree with you - he’s already served the community.
I’m willing to fork over $20, but can’t we opt for a used steam-roller?
Why didn’t they just kill him? Too much paperwork to do afterward????
LOL, my first thought was someone needs to buy him a heavier car. One of those old 12 cylinder diesel Mercedes from the 70s.
A travesty of justice, he should have got a medal or a cabinet position
That’s a great video.
She called her husband on the phone and said "I am being stabbed!"
You have to wonder if he would have gotten an even better deal if he’d finished the job.
“Welcome to your community service. Here is the vehicle you will be driving...”
>> Why didnt they just kill him? Too much paperwork to do afterward????
“He came at me with a knife - I thought I’d be killed. He already stabbed his wife. I defended myself. I just wanted to go home to my family.”
I read that and now I got blurry vision from laughing! I'm serious! I can't see my screen. Good thing I touch type.
I’d say the guy already has performed a ‘Community Service.’
> He asked the soldiers “Is that the terrorist?” and they answered in the affirmative. He then drove back and forth over him until the soldiers forced him to stop.
Sentenced to Community Service?
He should get a medal.
Sir, please stop driving over the terrorist. We already shot him six times in the legs.
(Funniest story I’ve read in months.)
“Stop! Stop already! That can’t be good for your suspension!”
“Doctor! Doctor! We’ve got a holey man in ER!”
“What’s his problem?”
“He’s tired like you wouldn’t believe!”
According to the charge sheet, at a certain point Mizrachi arrived, got into his car and drove toward Maswada. He asked the soldiers -- "Is that the terrorist?" -- and they answered in the affirmative. He then drove back and forth over him until the soldiers forced him to stop. The terrorist has since recovered from his injuries and is to stand trial for his offenses.Wait just a minute here -- that should be "Man Who Ran Over Freedom Fighter Gets Slap on the Wrist"! /sarc
He was like a son to me, and that was Ashura, so not having a knife, I used a car.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
Systemic differences are always interesting. You'd never get off with a suspended sentence. And you'd get sued up the kazoo by the terrorist. On the other hand law enforcement would never shoot him in the legs to block an escape, effective as it might be. They well might not shoot at all, if they did he'd probably be dead. He'd sue them too.
Lucky guy. He should have power braked on him though..
He can do his community service as a method actor in The Rachel Corrie Story.
It should have been.
Good grief, the terrorist stabbed the guy's wife.
He should get a medal for having the chutzpah to stick up for her.
