Same-sex bestiality laws may be protected by sexual orientation protection (discrimination) laws, that is sex with an animal of the same sex. Not sure about the opposite sex animals and humans.

I used to have a fairly exotic US government clearance, and a time came when we had to go through a polygraph test. One of the questions was: "Since the age of 18, have you had sex with a male?"

One of the wise guy technicians claimed his response was "A male WHAT?" (Course, nobody but the polygraph operator knows if it really happened, and maybe now rules are different anyway.)
