Just scares the hell out of me that our only choices might be between Mitt an Newt.
At least we don’t have Charlie Crist here in Florida this time.
Great interview. Notice he is advocating replacing Social Security with an optional private account system. This is radical, conservative reform. He has the experience to pull it off.

I agree. A good interview. I like listening to Newt. I think its the professor in him. He gets down and dirty with explaining his positions and policies.
What I sense is that he’s not afraid to get into the inside baseball aspects of things. Rather than some elitists who deem us only worthy of broad strokes and platitudes.
I’m definitely down for a private Social Security account. Sign me up. I also loved his comment about cleaning out the State Department of its entrenched supporters of radical Islam.
Best Regards
I've always liked Bachmann's conservatism and have sent her campaign contributions. Perhaps you may want to try to make a difference too and contribute time and or money to the candidate of your choice.
It's a more proactive than complaining.
Yes, I wouldn’t be surprised if Newt was being pushed as the alternative to Romney to force conservatives into choosing Romney as the lesser of two evils.
??? Conservatives choose Romney? Please elaborate.
I’m curious who you think is “pushing” Newt? The liberal media? Republican incumbents?
He is rising because he has done extraordinarily well in the debates. He hits home runs in every interview (such as this one). He’s got some good ideas (like partially privatizing Social security). I’m not sure how his brilliant performance so far in the campaign has been “pushed” by mysterious outside forces.
Immigration is my issue.
I supported Bachmann, opposed Perry, found Cain acceptable, never had any real interest in Romney, but I strongly oppose Newt Gingrich. I also strongly opposed John McCain to the point where I refused to vote for him in 2008.
So, we are in a situation where the race is about to narrow down after the Iowa caucuses, and Newt is being pushed as the alternative to Romney, someone who is worse than Jon Huntsman and Rick Perry on immigration.
That puts people like me in the position of having to choose between Newt and Romney. Frankly, Romney does not support amnesty for illegal aliens. Newt supports amnesty.
If the race comes down to Romney or Newt, people who supported Bachmann and Cain (because our top issue is immigration) will be forced into the position of having to choose Romney.
Newt is being pushed as the alternative to Romney to force people to vote for Romney as the lesser of two evils.
I thought he sucked in the debates.
What did I hear in the debate? I heard Newt say that illegal aliens should be granted legal status. In fact, the DNC released an attack ad using Newt’s position on immigration to attack Romney as cold and heartless.

I like your website. Thanks for the link.
What do you think about Newt’s Social Security plan that he discussed with Greta?
Got it. One issue? My family is about 30% Mexican. Some full (My uncles wife) to my grandson who carries my name who is 1/4. His other grandpa is 100% and has never learned to speak english and is still here because he’s married to an American. Blanket Amnesty is bullspit. But we have to provide a path for those who have earned it and at the same time evict every stinkin convict and mooch. That’s going to take about as long as it took to let this whole mess happen. it starts with sealing our borders which is the #1 National Security issue.
Gingrich is free to defend the “path to citizenship” position.
Bachmann’s position is that every single illegal alien should be deported. Romney doesn’t support the “path to citizenship.” If this shapes up to be a Newt vs. Romney race, then Romney wins the support of “border bots.”
Romney to Position is like an infant to playing linebacker. The second he has push back that will cost him an election??? Wait, wait...oh by golly he’s changed his mind.
Romney is the personality type that in war would show up just after the battle claiming victory and asking everyone what they went through so he could build his narrative.
Just like John F-in Kerry.
I liked Bachman before the debates and she was my choice (yes, even over Palin), but since debate 1 she has come across as a person I definitely do not want as President — whiney, attacking, not talking of her own aims etc. its a real pity
Newt specifically states they will not be CITIZENS.
I’m not sure if Newt is tough enough on Illegals, but to be fair, he would NOT make them citizens - no voting rights.
Once the idea of legalizing has been conceded, there is no going back. It will invite more illegals and ensures nobody is leaving.
Newt’s legalization plan would be starting point, for the great compromise bill.
Courts and future admins can then easily fine-tune the details and somehow annesty always ends up larger than advertized.
Amnesty is the biggest threat to the future of the country, and especially conservatives. I cannot vote for open amnesty freak.
