Statement by Gov. Rick Perry on Obama Administrations Use of Gay Rights to Make Foreign Aid Decisions
AUSTIN Gov. Rick Perry today issued the following statement:
Just when you thought Barack Obama couldnt get any more out of touch with Americas values, AP reports his administration wants to make foreign aid decisions based on gay rights.
This administrations war on traditional American values must stop.
I have proposed a foreign aid budget that starts at zero. From that zero baseline, we will consider aid requests based solely on Americas national security interests. Promoting special rights for gays in foreign countries is not in Americas interests and not worth a dime of taxpayers money.
But there is a troubling trend here beyond the national security nonsense inherent in this silly idea. This is just the most recent example of an administration at war with people of faith in this country. Investing tax dollars promoting a lifestyle many Americas of faith find so deeply objectionable is wrong.
President Obama has again mistaken Americas tolerance for different lifestyles with an endorsement of those lifestyles. I will not make that mistake.
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.
And there are those who insist that Barry Zero is NOT a buggering Butt-pirate.
It’ll be interesting to see if we still give any aid to the Palistinians or other muslim double-talking child boinkers.
Hell, disregarding the fact that he's my governer, Rick gets my vote based on that, alone.
Nobody is hearing this, shield. ANY of it. The msm will not allow Rick Perry to be heard. newt has been chosen. He has the clinton seal of approval just as mccain did. I don’t know how we change this, but we had better.
the media will ever allow the public to know he is using our money for an agenda which most do not want.
Kudo’s to Perry on this one at least he has balls to speak u0p on this issue unlike some in the GOP .
I’m definitely giving Perry a strong second look.
Actually, I agree with Zero on this. Given that most of our aid is to backward third world countries that do not give a hoot about any human rights.... we just cut several billion out of the budget.
Im voting for Perry. President Perry just sounds perfect!
Perry’s team is changing that. Romney was choosen also. Now look at him. There will be a shot that takes Newt out and it’s not far off.
It sure is a different world now... Used to be that foreign aid was used as leverage to bring warring states to the negotiating table, or to exact certain strategic actions. Now it’s all about “gay rights.”
Well, “gay” may be the “in thing” in New America, but it’s not quite so fashionable in other places in the world. Erstwhile recipients of U.S. foreign aid will look to China and do their bidding instead.
Ha! Show me another candidate who will dare take this stand (keeping in mind that Perry is also a sitting governor). Kudos to Governor Perry. To hell with the homosexual agenda. I’ve had enough.
Perry needs to do this right out loud so people can hear it! Putting it up on his website won’t get it. He has all but disappeared since the letterman show, and the news networks aren’t allowing any attention to be paid to him. It’s newt, 24/7 everywhere and it is sickening.
I am getting to the point that if gingrich or romney ends up with the nomination, I am going to write in Tim Tebow!!!
When we borrow 41 cents of every dollar we send to other countries this is one of Perry's planks I support.
If Barry isn’t gay, where are all the “girlfriends” before Moochelle?
romney didn’t have the clinton seal of approval, shield. gingrich does...which means that gingrich has sold his soul exactly like mccain did. If it even begins to look as if Perry is back in this race, he will be Palined or Cained, or worse.
I can see the day when some freak crawls out from under a rock and claims he had sex with Rick Perry. It WILL happen. Such is the way of the G-dless, the power-hungry, the crooks, and the greedy.
Rush calls it the “Excrement List foreign policy”:
No money if you act against the interests of America.
Of course, this is much more likely to be a "talking point" designed for the campaign trail.
AMEN! I hope he, Bachmann, or Santorum can pick up some momentum here int he next few weeks and take out the elitists’ top choices. I’d take Romney over Newt, I’m beginning to think, after hearing more from Newt. Egads!
It seems that way, doesn’t it.
It infuriates me that the media is totally ignoring Rick Perry.
They’re afraid to speak his name these days.
What is this? Sold on Newt? Sold on Romney?
Mrs. Romney was on Fox this morning. She seems like a nice lady, but why not have Anita Perry on?
Rick Perry believes all the right things, has done all the right things and says all the right things.
He has no disqualifying stuff in his background but does have a proven conservative record.
I am getting to the point that if gingrich or romney ends up with the nomination, I am going to write in Tim Tebow!!!****
Well, if there’s anything I’ve learned over the past 6 or 7 weeks it’s that anyone who underestimates Tebow does so at their own risk. And the MSM for sure hates Tebow even more than your run of the mill conservative.
Tebow for President!
Well, Tim is a winner! LOL
I would not worry about Perry being derailed by some sort of made-up accusations.
He’s been in the public eye too long.
The dems and the media in Texas hate him and they’ve been scrounging around in his closet for skeletons for years and haven’t found a thing.
Yes, he is, By G-d!!! I love him to pieces.
Never undrestimate the power of evil. That is straight up what this election is all about. Good and evil. Flat out.
“If Barry isnt gay, where are all the girlfriends before Moochelle?
In the men’s Locker room with “Reggie Love”.........
I think Hillary is out in front of the gay foreign aid idea. I believe I read a story on Drudge and just shook my head.
The Republican party wants to play nice with Obama. Perry is taking the battle right to him instead. I like that about him.
Perry bought a lot of ads on FNC to air nationally so Fox has to literally count the number of times they mention Perry in the Magazine shows. They can cover him as news all they want but in opinion shows they have to pull back because of equal time rules. The Perry camp would have known this when he bought the Ad time.
Hannity says he wants Perry to get elected and FNC is selling air time to Perry then the rest of the field can go after Fox for violating the equal time laws. So they are covering their butts by limiting how often they promote him as a candidate.
Perry wants to control the messaging more than trusting the bloviators.
This isn’t the only good policy Perry has expounded upon. But the message sure needs to get out there. I have never, ever seen anything like this.
For how long? It was his appearances as HIMSELF that got my attention in the first place. I told you then, I was seeing a better candidate than he was right out of the box.
Perry bought those ads after his fake brain freeze in that debate. When he was on those programs and several FNC programs is when he purchased them.
Oh Perry spent a million dollars on those ads.
It’s an incredible disappointment to me that Gov. Perry didn’t do good in the debates. When he first announced, I thought surely he’d waltz to the nomination. Sigh.
Well, not exactly true. I heard it this morning here in Los Angeles on KFI radio where the thoroughly disgusting Bill Handel and his crew mocked Perry for his comments on Obama's gay foreign policy.
The only way this could happen is if self-professed real conservatives got off their collective arses and supported one of them. It isn't happening. Why?
Contrary to prevailing opinion here, the media doesn't choose our candidates. We do, from a group of people who put themselves forward and run in the primaries. So why are Gingrich, Romney and Paul leading in the polls? Hmmmm...?
Reagan was treated the same as Perry and also had some debate problems. The GOP establishment tried to stop him with Kay Bailey Hutchinson...that so called powerful machine didn't stop him. The GOP stabbed Reagan in the back as they have done to Perry.
I pray that there are a WHOLE LOT of people who are lying their butts off on these polls so their candidate doesn’t get the Palin/Cain treatment.
Most of the polls are push polls. I have contacted Rasmussen raising hell over his push polls.
Other numbers that suggest a potential rise: Perry stands at 78 percent positive among self-identified tea party members, according to the survey.
But he also enjoys strong support among Iowas undecided voters, at 71 percent.
One of the polls most interesting findings: 67 percent of respondents overall and a whopping 75 percent who are leaning toward former House Speaker Gingrich state that they still may change their minds. That finding suggests that, with just a few weeks to go before the caucuses, the Iowa electorate remains very fluid."....
I like it! :)
That’s how the silent majority see Perry. What I am seeing is 55%.
No we didn't. The money is still there. It just means we can "reward" certain countries that are accepting of perversion.
