Sandusky was denied job at Juniata after background check
A year and a half after an investigation began into Jerry Sandusky's contact with young boys, the former Penn State assistant football coach applied for a volunteer coaching job at a central Pennsylvania college but was denied the job after a background check.
Officials at Juniata College said Wednesday that Sandusky applied for the volunteer football coaching job in May 2010 and rejected the following month after a background check showed a high school where Sandusky previously volunteered was investigating him.
Juniata spokesman John Wall said the college was not informed of the details of the investigation or the existence of a grand jury, but based on the report informed its coaches Sandusky was not to have contact with the program.
"We basically did our due-diligence," Wall said.
According to Wall, Sandusky continued to attend games after he was rejected for the job and at one point sat in the press box for an away game.
Wall said he wasn't sure what led Sandusky to be in the press box, but said the school's former athletic director then reiterated to its coaches that Sandusky was to have no connection with the team.

Yes indeed!
Gotta love a system whereby everybody can do “due diligence”, wash there hands of the filth they find,
What filth did the school find and washed their hands of? It appears from the article they dropped the applicant’s background check after they were informed he was being investigated by others but had no details of the investigation.
Clinics, golf outings, football camps, telephone conversations between old teammates about whether coaching jobs are open or about to open had to have been rife with rumors concerning Sandusky.
Would be quite interesting to find out how many people "heard" something regarding Sandusky.
Molesters are vampires. They use charisma and grooming/seduction to hypnotize their prey.
But instead of sucking out blood, they pump in poison.
And they are rampant anywhere the liberal gaystapo is pushing the envelope on sexualizing our children.
Molesters used to lurk in public toilets, now they run our public institutions.
Until a Sandusky case causes them to scatter momentarily, like kitchen cockroaches caught in the open by a sudden light.
I’d also like to know how rampant were the rumors in coaching circles.
Is it true there was a sort of joke about a special Sandusky icecream cone around PSU? If so, the rumor must have been solidly “out there.”
But nobody would take up a hammer and a wooden stake, or do what it took to defang the vampire conclusively.

Read Travis McGee's comments, very interesting and plausible. Sandusky arrested on new sex abuse charges, SkyDancer posted a link up the thread. The worst aspect of this hell (to me) is not that Sandusky is the vicious POS that he is, but the fact that countless numbers of people who may not be vicious homosexual child rapists themselves, covered for him - FOR YEARS.
For decades the question has asked - "How could so many people who were not intrinsically evil have ignored the atrocities and mass slaughter in the camps in Germany and Poland? How could they have been silent, or even helped the process along? How could they?"
Now we know. People without a strong moral compass will go along with evil because it's easier and more comfortable and safer.

Yes, the Penn State Creamery had an ice cream flavor called the Sandusky Blitz, which was pulled soon after the allegations were made public.
Sandusky Blitz was described as a "banana-flavored ice cream with chocolate-covered peanuts and caramel swirl."

It cost me $75 each to run a coach through a KidsSafe program here in PA. Great background check. One in four get checked every year. Got one potential perv in 10 years. It was worth it.
