Gingrich on Inauguration Day: Repeal Obamacare, Sarbanes-Oxley, Dodd-Frank
By Mallie Jane Kim
December 7, 2011
If former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is elected president, he has a busy first day planned.
At his speech at the Republican Jewish Coalition's 2012 Republican Presidential Candidates Forum this afternoon, Gingrich urged attendees to help vote a large Republican majority into the House and Senate in 2012 so Congress could immediately pass repeals of the Affordable Care Act and the financial regulations Sarbanes-Oxley and Dodd-Frank.
They should do so early in January, "before I am sworn in," he said. "Bring it out during the inaugural so we can finish signing it."
And within hours of his inauguration, he'd move the U.S. Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, which would signal the United States believes Israel owns the contested capitol city. Presidents Clinton, Bush, and Obama have all delayed moving the embassy for diplomatic and national security concerns.

I agree with all of it
But what about homos in the military, Newt? This is the single most destructive advance of liberalism in the last generation, because it’s almost irreversible, unlike fiscal issues.
I like it, but in watching Politicians running for office: is he just saying it? will he follow thru? Is Gingrich a “say anything” politico like Romney?
Chances are good.
Wow.
I have been strong critic of Newt because he has joined every liberal cause on the last 5 years, but maybe he got the message and is joining conservatives. This sounds like excellent start.
...add in Gramm-Leach-Bliley and he'd have a winning trifecta ticket!
Not sold on Newt, mind you, but he did deliver on everything he promised in the 1994 Contract With America — note that a lot of people might say otherwise because not everything passed, but he did get everything up for a vote within 100 days, which was the actual promise.
So in that respect, if he makes a campaign promise, he does appear to have the history of following through to the best of his ability.
Or have the Dems overridden the filibuster?
Very odd talk from a man who is buddies with the current ruler of the state department Hillary Clinton.
It would be good to see as many lib strongholds falls as is legally and humanly possible. I hope the Republicans win everywhere and have the power and the will to get the job done - ignoring the MSM all the way.
I was wondering who would make a good WH press secretary....at first I thought of Ann Coulter, but she may be a little too much, although it would be fun to watch. Then I thought of Michelle Malkin - sharp, forthright, firm, but not quite as bombastic.
Yup. That would be a good start..
An ambitious program, to be sure, but still, only a beginning.
Either dismantling practically everything since the time of Teddy Roosevelt, and replacing all those supposed functions with some kind of program that actually WORKS, or at least make the ones in place conform to the demands of a cost-benefit analysis from top to bottom, should be the scope of the national housecleaning that is long overdue.
We are certainly not getting all the government we are paying for. Which may be a good thing, come to think of it.
Newt is sounding better all of the time.
he is going after the crazed laws wewant tossed and not attacking his opponents in his own party.
Maybe now the rest of them will do the same.
Start telling us what we want to hear (and meaning it) and stop bad mouthing each other.
I think you are correct, which is sadly why I believe none of this will happen. I think these things only get repealed in a total collapse, which is probable at this point.
Newt also indicated ... that he’d invite former Ambassador to the U.N. John Bolton, who has a pro-Israel record, to be his secretary of state. But he had one condition: “I will only appoint him if he will agree that his first job is the complete and thorough transformation of the State Department,” he said, “and the replacement of the current Foreign Service culture with a new entrepreneurial and aggressive culture dedicated to the proposition that defending freedom and defending America is the first business of the State Department.”
One caveat. No amnesty promise, enforcement including fence and I’m on board. I still do not trust which Newt will show up
I’d vote for him just to get John Bolton shaking up the State Department.
