Why It's So Easy To Destroy Republicans
Irish Examiner ^ | December 6, 2011 | Alicia Colon

If one examines the voting patterns over the last few decades it appears that Republican voters are particularly picky and principled about whom they vote for.

Democrats on the other hand are more interested in what's being promised to them than in a candidate's character. That may be a jaundiced view unless you look at what's happened to Herman Cain's presidency campaign. Just spread the idea that he may be an adulterer or sexual harasser and Cain's supporters run for the hills. By the time this column is published, Cain may have ended his campaign because that's what Republicans usually do. They quit because they know they've lost the support of GOP voters. Democrats hang on forever because their voters don't care as long as you promise them goodies or scare them with bogus horror stories.

There is no other explanation for the long careers of Ted Kennedy, (Chappaquiddick - Google it), Barney Frank, Chris Dodd (Countrywide - Google it) Charlie Rangel and last but certainly not least, William Jefferson "Bill" Clinton. They elected and reelected a president that had more question marks on his character than all the GOP candidates combined and it made no difference at all.

Herman Cain's sexual harassment accusers all bore the dubious stamp of Chicago with a possible link to Obama's David Axelrod. Yet they were treated by the mainstream media as victims with iron clad allegations. Contrast that with the many different women who cropped up accusing Bill Clinton of much more nefarious deeds and with far more documentation than the Cain women came up with. Betsey Ross Wright, a Clinton associate, coined the phrase "bimbo eruptions" to describe the legion of women alleged to have been involved with then-Governor Clinton.

Before David Brock founded Media Matters, an anti-conservative website, allegedly with the support of George Soros, he was still considered to be sane. In 1993 he wrote a devastating article for The American Spectator that chronicled the lurid details provided by Arkansas State troopers about what went on during Bill Clinton's reign as governor. That article led to the Paul Jones lawsuit and "Troopergate," the first scandal of the Clinton presidency.

Brock later dismissed his article but Paula Jones was just one of many women with credible stories that were ignored by the MSM and the National Organization of Women (N.O.W.) which regarded Clinton as their pro-choice savior. Juanita Broadrick claimed that Governor Clinton had raped her in 1978 and left her with a bruised lip then told her, "better put some ice on that" before he left. Hillary Clinton wasn't about to let these women spoil her own ambitious political plans and went on TV saying that the stories told by Jones, Gennifer Flowers and other "bimbos" were part of "a vast right wing conspiracy." She has received a great deal of sympathy and support from progressives in her stellar career as senator and Secretary of State but had she been a Republican she would have been derided for riding on the coattails of her husband.

Remember Congressman Mark Foley (R-Fl) whose suggestive emails to a male page forced him to leave office and tarnished the entire GOP leading to the Dem takeover of Congress in 2006? Maybe he should have stood his ground with his colleagues' support and pointed out that those emails were no comparison to what Rep. Gerry Studds (D-Mass) did in 1983. Studds admitted to an affair with a 17-year old page whom he took to Europe but called it a consensual affair and while he was censured by Congress, he was reelected six times after the scandal.

Rep. Barney Frank's boyfriend operated a gay brothel from his home but voters didn't blame Barney. Nor did voters in Harlem blame Charlie Rangel for not paying his taxes on his Dominican Republic villa even though he served on the House Committee on Taxation. They reelected him last year when he was up against a superb candidate, Michel Faulkner, whose only flaw was that he is a black Republican as is Herman Cain which means he is dangerous to the Democrats.

In a way I hope that Herman Cain continues to fight on and uses this development to expose how the left fights any American black who ventures outside Uncle Sam's plantation. Star Parker used this term to describe how Big Government enslaves the poor and it was never more evident than by the recent Occupy Wall Street protesters who are addicted to government largesse.

The Democrat crushing machine will continue to eviscerate all Republicans in its wake because it knows that the media will assist in the destruction while ignoring any possible flaws in its own candidate. Consider how very little we knew about Barack Hussein Obama in 2008 and for that matter how little we know now.

The media via Politico has clued us into the women in Herman Cain's past but why haven't we heard from any of Obama's past girlfriends? Surely this charismatic man who had viewers fainting on his campaign trail and who sent tingles up and down Chris Matthews' leg must have enthralled females along the way to the White House.

Why hasn't he released transcripts of his Columbia University records? We know that Rick Perry was not such a great student. George W. Bush was crucified for his C average but we know nothing about how the "brilliant" Obama did in college.

After the successful harpooning of Herman Cain, we can expect the media to dissect the career and private life of Newt Gingrich since he is now the front runner for the GOP. When Rick Perry was in the lead, Hustler's Larry Flynt ran an ad offering one million to anybody who could prove he or she had a sexual relationship with the Texas governor. So far no takers but who knows who can be manufactured should Perry become the leader again?

Perhaps due diligence by the media is only applied to the pasts of Republican candidates because they are most vulnerable to the fickleness of the average GOP voter. Would it have made any difference to the voters if Bill Clinton's reason for leaving Oxford had made some headlines? Was he expelled or was he asked to withdraw following allegations of a sexual assault from an Ellen Wellstone?

Nope, it wouldn't have made a whit of difference. He is a well respected elder statesman and most important of all - he is a Democrat.

Republicans don’t need the MSM and their Democrat zombies to help them self destruct. We can destroy our own better than any of our enemies ever could.

I’ve always thought that it was because ‘Pubbies have standards and Democrats don’t. When a politician commits a crime or a breach of trust, for a Democrat it is a resume enhancer; for a ‘Pubbie it is the end of his career.

Well it doesn’t hurt to toss in a few death threats against everyone that the person cares about in the world.

Why are we letting the MSM choose our candidates for them?

“Why are we letting the MSM choose our candidates for them?”

I don’t think “we” are. We are a tiny minority. Most including many in the republican party think we are just extremist to be ignored...

A slightly amusing article about media bias and generic Republicans as opposed to immoral DemoRats.

Alicia correctly classifies the useful idiot entitlement Rat voters, but entirely misses the rational conservative component of Pubbie picky voters who won't go along with RINOs, but for policy reasons rather than character assassination.

I would have agreed with you, except for all the attacks on Cain. No, this site is well represented by establishment republicans only too happy to help Obama get re-elected.

That is true-—Republicans feel shame. Democrats have no shame (or morals).

The main reason for self-destruct though is the MSM is controlling perceptions by lying and slandering and innuendos. They control the perceptions of most people who have no time to research their “claims”.

But Republicans also know no one is perfect....we all do things we regret. There are skeletons in EVERY Republican closet....Democrats have them littering their whole house and lawn (and don’t care because they have corrupted the thinking of the masses through constant immoral TV programming and public school education in Skinnerism—one way to think—group think.

Many people can not be analytical....the ex-KGB talk about the effects of this cognitive dissonance in the schools....never can be rational after 12 years of it.

Then we have the infiltration of the Republican Party by One Worlders—who want to eliminate the Constitutional restraints. The evil is widespread—Sir Acton is correct about Power corrupting. Even Republicans are in the pocket of Satan and lie.

Republicans voters are more likely to be working 24/7 and trying to raise emotionally healthy children which leaves them too little time to find the “truth” which is deliberately sabotaged by the MSM. Marxism is about The Big Lie. Now they even resort to terrorism and a lot of good people have to watch what they say because of the ACORN-type mobs..... just like Lenin and Stalin, Hitler and the Stasi used——(Scott Walker).

We now have Stasi terror tactics now employed by mobs which is silencing not only businesses but politicians. Many are fearful for their lives and families....the Marxists are evil and will kill.

“Why It’s So Easy To Destroy Republicans”

Because the pubbies don’t have the cajones to fight back.
The RATS get down and dirty, but the pubbies stay above the fray to their detriment. Look at the crap GW took and neither he or his minions ever fought back.

Conservatives have values, but have trouble living up to them.
They are criticized by other conservatives with no better restraint.

Liberals have no values to live up to, and only agendas to pursue.
Thus, they are able to promote those agendas, unabated by any behavior that doesn’t land them in jail.

This is complicated by Republican’s unwillingness to FIGHT, and their eagerness to trust the untrustworthy.

So let’s put a fighter in the White House and take back America.
Once that’s done, we can elect 330 saints to the House and Senate, to achieve the necessary majorities, and later, another saint to the White House.

Look - the reason our guys give up is because the 'press' is on the side of democrats. If Cain had raped women - and trashed them so they were afraid to testify against him - AND HE HAD BEEN A DEMOCRAT, the press would have looked the other way. If hints of the truth had come out , they would have chided those who objected as being 'sexually uptight' and talked about wanting kneepads.

The MSM is going to hit up on Newt on this - and ignore reports on Obama - we have to stand firm and tell them to shove their one-sided reporting. Tell the press to get their style books in order so issues are treated the same. It's not just where a common goes that makes a newspaper great or makes it a biased piece of sh*t.

Then we enlist FOX News to one for on the trash talk. Dem shills in the media do it to us - we do it back to them.

Put democrat office holders ON THE RECORD about THEIR personal feelings about infidelity. The press gives them a pass based on an assumption that they're all free love advocates... Let's find out if that's true. Let's talk to their wives too...

It’s the battle between the old boys and the new more conservative ones.
Old school will gladly sabotage the new people to maintain power. That is why the old school has to GO!

Not to mention the GOP nominating process is busted beyond broken, and we have no real mechanism for identifying moral degenerates and then drumming them out of the party.

Tell me ONE rat that had to 'fight back'.

John Edwards was so protected by the press that a picture of him and his baby had to be published before 'the press' would even look at the rumors. Have you ever EVER seen a rat taken down by rumor? A rumor? It's almost impossible to take them down with a mountain of facts and 20 people willing to testify. The press will fight for their teachers' pets...

Ted Kennedy was driving drunk, killed a woman, walked away from the accident (the young girl might have been saved) and the effing 'press' wrote the story at the time as if it was another 'tragedy ' FOR the family. The drunk killer got the press pity. HAVE YOU EVER seen that happen to a Republican?

If one examines the voting patterns over the last few decades it appears that Republican voters are particularly picky and principled about whom they vote for. Democrats on the other hand are more interested in what's being promised to them than in a candidate's character.

Democracy is like a heat shield on a returning space vehicle.

At first, it has very little to do. But then as the speed and heat increase, evil realizes that literally anything goes as long as they get the vote. So pandering, crime, lies, theft, and every vile thing gets thrown at the electorate, to tempt and spearate out those who can be bought for their vote.

In the mean time, Democracy itself, the very government of principles and balance and fairness that supprts it, is on fire, and breaking off in burning chunks, being reduced moment by moment by those hacking away at it in order to control it and get votes by any means.

But like a heat shield, it's not supposed to last forever. The adversary is trying to break it apart before it's use is finished, and thus engulf the spacecraft in an explosion of flames and explode, it, killing its occupants. It's defenders are trying to make it last long enough to reduce enough speed so that it can finally pop it's chutes, and safely land.

It's a race against time.

Democrats have perfected the art of using their political adversaries’ own virtue against them. And for their part: Democrats, absent even the slightest pretense of virtue, can promote Hell while promising Heaven.

That’s an interesting analogy. I would only differ in characterizing your “heat shield” as a Constitutional Republic, with democratic processes at the controls. What protects our national “craft” in the heat of peril is the shield of the timeless principles spread out upon a piece of parchment that serves as our foundation. It is up to the crew to ensure that no member(s) acts to the detriment of all by changing course so radically that the shield fails, no matter what alternative destination might be envisioned. Lest we forget: the threats we face are not only external, but internal.
