Holder Hearings Part Two: Rep. Issa Confirms Holder Is under Oath, Holder Changes His Story Again
Big Government ^ | 12/8/11 | AWR Hawkins

Posted on 12/08/2011 11:50:06 AM PST by Nachum

When it came time for Attorney General Eric Holder to make his opening comments, Congressman Darrell Issa (R-CA) requested that the A.G. be sworn under oath. Issa had already noted that Congress had been lied to and that in previous hearings, Holder & Co. displayed the “unheard of” habit of redacting their letters and testimony to the Congress. Congressman Lamar Smith (R-TX) said that it wasn’t necessary for Holder to be sworn under oath because it was understood that he was already under oath by virtue of the purpose for which he was appearing. Issa then asked Smith if he was sure that Holder was bound as being under oath, and Smith verified that he was.

Kabuki Theater and stage craft , of course, but I like it.

Does that make me a bad person?

Apparently Holder thinks it doesn’t matter at all HOW much he lies —I saw the testimony in the gym while working out, and had to stop, it was so amazing:

Holder was going on and on about how incredibly much he has complied to Congressional requests for docs, how much out of his way he’s gone to testify, his over-the-top degree of openness -—it’s like he lives in some alternative reality, or something.

He carries out gun-stings with NO arrests, then performs money-laundering stings, AGAIN with no arrests —evar.

It looks very much like the world’s biggest drug-dealers are Eric Holder, Barak Obama, and Janet Napolitano.

I now half-expect donkey-shows and taco stands on Pennsylvania Avenue.

BIGGEST SCANDAL IN US HISTORY.

“I have a question: How did Holder address the “allegations” associated with gun walking in Fast and Furious in February if he didn’t know about Fast and Furious until mid-April? Remember, when he first gave testimony to Congress on May 3, he told Issa he had only known about Fast and Furious for a few weeks”

Good point.

What has been confirmed is that no trust should be placed in anything that Holder, or Obama for any matter, says or puts on paper because it is what is in the mind of the person , known or unknown, that only has valid meaning. So one needs a shrink to interpret their true intent.

I would have requested that Holder be sworn in again - don’t want to give cornered rats any wiggle room.

Stedman should have learned from bill clinton. Pick a story and stick to it.

I would have demanded it. I think Lamar Smith is astute enough to know where this is all heading but gutless enough to not want to face the necessity of action. Therefore, providing wiggle room was precisely what he intended. Like the Senate trial following Clinton's impeachment, those members of Congress who are paying a bit of attention are getting scared that they may be expected to act on the findings. They'd like this to go away soon.

That POS Holder...trying to equate this debacle with what happened during the Bush administration.

Apples and oranges....the exercise Bush sanctioned was very carefully monitored and controlled.

No LEO died because of it.

I’m with you on that. I think they ought to make him swear in every time he has to open his mouth.

Not only that, he should be held, without bail, until someone segregates the truth from the lies in his testimony.
Lying, in this case, is a crime.

Not as bad as me. I’d have made that sorry SOB Holder confirm with his own liar’s lips that he understood he was under oath.

Just for fun.

(such immaturity is why you’ll never see *me* elected to serve in the hallowed halls of Congress. oh wait... belay that, maturity doesn’t seem to be a job requirement...)

Via Drugde, a Fox News story had this:

"Holder said such a program "must never happen again," but effectively urged lawmakers to move on -- and tackle the broader issue of the flow of firearms into Mexico."

He's trying to change the subject, naturally. Fox News is trying to help him with the "effectively urged" phrase.

I've long since stopped actively watching FNC. I'm not missing much.

And it was ended as soon as Bush found out one gun had slipped over the border as was not tracked. That was the end of that operation. Fast and Furious is not a continuation of the Bush operation but a brand new cluster F*** and is totally owned by the Democrats.

After this scumbags actions during the Clinton Administration and the refusal to hold him accountable did anyone expect Eric Holder to be honest about anything he does?

Please.............

His lack of honest behavior goes back decades...
