Woman arrested for making meth in Wal-Mart
KLTV ^

Posted on 12/09/2011 7:07:08 AM PST by mnehring

TULSA, OK (KTUL/CNN) - Police arrested a woman they said mixed meth chemicals inside a Wal-Mart store.

They reported the suspect, Elizabeth Alisha Greta Halfmoon, had been in the store for about six hours, taking chemicals from bottles and mixing them in order to make meth. One police officer received minor injuries when the chemicals in the bottle burned his hand.

Nobody else was hurt. Tulsa Police Officer David Shelby said it was the first time he had seen anyone actually try to mix meth in a store.

"There are elderly people, there are children, there are all kinds of people in that store right now," he said.

Too grainy of an image to determine her guilt, but I’m leaning Not Guilty.

The store managers waited SIX hours before calling the police?

Walmart is often used as a place for homeless families to stay warm on cold days. They buy some drinks or a sandwich every couple of hours and don’t linger too long in any one area, and they are in a safe, warm place until their shelter area opens up.

It’s often a kindness by the managers as long as they aren’t stealing or making a disturbance. But when you see someone opening containers... yeah, you need to confront at that point.

This would be a great test of the asset forfeiture law. Let’s have the county sheriff claim Walmart as his office’s property.

It’s a certainty that they didn’t see the whole process. I’d bet that six-hour figure comes from an after-the-fact scrutiny of in-store surveillance tapes.

Well, they’re not gonna call the cops from the moment she walks in. Not unusual for a customer to be present for a couple hours, probably wouldn’t warrant special attention for four, and not until near 6 hours would they go “holy crap what’s she doing? call the cops!” if she’s discreet about it. Not like you quickly suspect a Walmart shopper of cooking meth in-store; that’s a non-sequitur that would take anyone a while to figure out.

To be useful, that table is going to need to have a wider stance and perhaps more shear bracing. A strip recorder could be a popular option.

You might want to keep that one for use as a future tagline.

The comments in this thread sort of make the topic (Wal-Mart meth) seem pale by comparison.
