We have pulled this story about the Mormon cannery being visited by federal agents because the source of the information at the cannery is now denying that he ever told us that event occurred.
From now on, we will NOT post any such story based on what we are told by other people unless, and until, they are willing to go on video or at least on an audio recording with their info. That way, in case someone starts to crumble under the public attention or other pressures, and wants to deny what they told us, we have video or audio proof.
We get all kinds of scary intel, all the time, and we rarely pass it on because we don’t have confirming documentation. In this case, we were relying on a confirmed eye witness who is now denying it. We will not do that again without a recording.

I am not Mormon so someone please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe being prepared is a part of the teachings of the Mormon faith. Even before ideas of terrorist attacks, they were taught to be prepared for an event. If this is correct, isn’t the government attempt to obtain this information some sort of violation of their religious rights? And I apologize if I didn’t explain this well - it is not an attempt to attack the belief/preparation.
The feds are just making a list, checking it twice, making sure how is naughty or nice.

It is. They're told to always have a years supply. Everyone in the church is suppose to be prepared. It's a Mormon belief.
The government has no business getting involved in their practice. This is their belief, their money, their time, their property.
I think this is nanny (communist) government trying to make sure no one has more than their "fair" share. There are democrats out there who demand to be fed. With the bad economy, someone has to be held responsible. Someone has to pay for the democrats lack of self accountability!

My daughter is in middle school. 2 days ago she had a Social Studies assignment that she HAD TO DO! She had no choice as she would get an F if she did not do the required assignment!
What was that assignment?
She had to take a picture of our food pantry and the food in it and she had to take a picture of our Freezer and Fridge with what amount of food we had, how much was spent on food per week and she had to bring in a picture of her family!
It really bothered me and I did not want her to do it, but she got upset and said she had to do it and that is was just for comparing to food people eat in other countries!
I allowed her to take the pictures and take a picture of her and I for the project.
Now, I have been thinking about it this morning with the information about the Federal Government going to the Mormon Food Pantry demanding a list of who has purchased bulk food.
AND the White House Unveiling plans of using schools, teachers and Community leaders (Churches) to find out about people and who may be terrorist, due to not agreeing with the government.

My ancestors have been enemies of this State at least twice now, in 1824 and 1860. It is kind of a family tradition I guess, going back at least to Jacobites and Huguenots, and probably Alfred and Boudicca. Win some, lose some; keep on keeping on.

People who prepare will have more than food. They will have guns, ammo, silver, cash, medicine, seeds for planting gardens, clothing...all sorts of things.
When there is a power grab by a dictator, the biggest enemies of that dictator will be the people who are not at the dictators mercy...ie preppers. When the economy crashes, and the US dollar is worthless, you can bet your ass the government will try to confiscate as much as they can from those that prepared so that they will have something to give to the rioting masses. That will be their only hope for staying in power.
Were these IRS agents seeking information that supported the profit/loss claimed by the food storage cannery? Seems to me that the IRS can request receipts, records, etc., in an audit of a tax return.
Yes, our Church teaches that each family should be prepared with one year supply of food and water. It’s a good idea for every family. I wonder what the feds were up to?

The government has identified every source of cash, natural resources, ammunition, and food and is quietly cornering the market on all of them. The healthcare law was designed to control the huge amount of money in the healthcare industry. They will someday control the people through the control of their healthcare, their sources of food, and other resources(heat, etc) Any one who has large stores of any of these represents a threat to their control.
I agree. I'd have fudged the heck out of it. It wouldn't have been anywhere near accurate. It's none of the teachers unions business what or who we have in our home.
The girl had to do the project, but the union wouldn't have gotten anything real from us. One cupboard empty, the next full. One refrigerator shelf empty, one full. The family photo would have been so distant, faces would be too small to be seen.
They would have ended up with nothing to use for peer pressure against my kids.The union will make those who have food feel guilty because another may not have it. Those with real families will be made to feel guilt, because their parents are too normal. They'll be made to feel guilty because they have while others do not.
This was a socialist study class. Socialism is being taught. The kids are being trained to feel guilty about their lives.
