As the United Nations climate talks in Durban progress, they are becoming increasingly combative, offering a soft preview of the kind of political atmosphere destined to prevail in a world where agriculture in vulnerable regions of the planet begins to succumb to catastrophic drought and flooding. The United States and Canada have drawn intense criticism here during the first two days of the conference.
Participants lamented Canadas new status as a laggard country when that nations conservative government announced its plan to quit the Kyoto Protocol, which it called a thing of the past. And, to almost no ones surprise, people inside the conference halls and out on the streets joined together in labeling the United States enemy number one for the way it is wielding its vast global influence in the service of intransigence, backpedaling and obfuscation. A top South African religious leader Tuesday called the high-profile climate-change skepticism of many U.S. leaders immoral.
At a well-attended briefing Tuesday morning held by NGO umbrella organization Climate Action Network, Bishop Geoff Davies, executive director of the Southern African Faith Communities Environment Institute, highlighted what he saw as the contradiction inherent in the fact that the people of the United States are deeply religious but also alienated from the responsibility faith demands to address suffering tied to climate-altering pollution.

Correction to post 39...that should read:
...the delegates to this conference know essentially nothing about science and are not keeping up with the latest research:
(It always amazes me how little global warming nuts actually know about science and yet how strident they are in their ignorant opinions.)
Now that’s the classic “pot calling the kettle black”......
I ran some numbers recently and it looks to me like the typical middle income Baby Boomer, if he/she is lucky enough to live to about 80, will approximately get their social security taxes returned to them in benefits with an inflation adjustment but with zero real return on investment. That means, of course, that we all could have done far better in mandatory IRAs. This is the obvious result of giving huge windfall benefits to early participants in social security (such as my late father) who received far more in benefits than they ever paid in social security taxes even after adjusting for inflation.
That's our brave political class in Washington screwing over younger Americans to buy votes from seniors and fight off liberal election opponents.
Well, our country did elect Obama, so I guess he has some point.
Don’t even bother explaining to these lib idiots about “climate change”. The only thing they believe is that man is responsible for everything baaaaad..
My dream in life is to have a genuine American as President who will tell the UN to go F themselves.”
I am telling all liberal friends and family to go F themselves. At least I can do that!! Try it, it’s fun!! You don’t have to put up with them any longer, because they all think your a jerk. They think that anyway! So might as well tell them how you really feel.
It’s way past time to throw these commie ***holes out of the U.S. We’ve got enough of our own commies that we have to deal with.
This is what passes for the language of science these days.
The 5th Column works its magic.
I want everyone to believe invisible unicorns are eating away at our existence - and they ONLY solution is to give MONEY MONEY MONEY to conservative causes... Can I be angry when the idiots the UN doubt me?
IMHO, the time has long past to use eminent domain and throw the bums out of the UN. Even though the UN campus is an excelent example of mid-20th century architecture I say tear it down, sell the site to Donald Trump for $1, and let him negotiate with the Mohawks and the NFL to build a casino and stadium so we can bring the Jets and Giants back to NYC where they belong!!
A real US leader would make sure we had no part of the UN, period.
Who reads this crap, anyway?
