Creeping Halal

In January of this year, the Daily Mail reported what was, to some at least, an alarming trend of "secretively prepared" halal meat (the meat of animals ritualistically slaughtered in accordance with Islamic law) being served in "Britain's most popular sporting venues, pubs, schools, and hospitals without the public's knowledge."  So prevalently was this tactic employed that some schoolchildren had no non-halal choices beyond a "vegetarian option." Once the public was made aware of this fact, Britons began voicing their concerns over the practice.  Animal rights activists opposed it because "research suggests that animals can die a slow painful death" as a result of the bleeding halal requires, primarily because the animals are often not stunned prior to the act.  Others, however, had a more religious objection.  Over 10,000 Christians signed a petition that called for proper labeling, citing "reservations about eating meat from animals that are bled to death while an Islamic prayer is recited."  Church official Alison Ruoff suggested that "there is a lot of fear about upsetting Muslims but as Christians you have to stand up for Christian values.  Because we are unwittingly eating halal meat, we are spreading the practice of sharia law."

I wouldn't be thrilled with having to eat meat sacrificed to a pagan god.

Don’t worry about it. 1 Corinthians 8:4–13 covers it for us. As long as we know that the muslim pagan god is not real, we can eat their food.

This isn't exactly news to those in the UK. Supermarket shelves are stocked with Halal Meat without our knowledge.

In the early Chrisitan era, the Caesars were worshiped by the pagans as a god. When they persecuted the Christians they would take an animal, sacrifice it on the alter to various Roman gods, and force Christians to partake of it under pain of death.
By eating part of that sacrificed animal, you affirmed your belief in the pagan gods, not Christ.

Who do you honor when you eat halal meats sacrificed to mohammed’s god?

I buy meats at a Restaurant Wholesale place. They used to sell-even six months ago-just a few halal offerings, but now they have a halal option for just about everything.

Used to be just a few chickens, and burger patties, but there seems to be a huge campaign..lots of signs in the walk in coolers touting halal on the meats. I am buying more pork.

I thought of that verse when I posted it. I didn't say I was forbidden. I said I wouldn't be thrilled.

And I wouldn't be. Maybe God won't care, but it bothers me. And unless in extremis, I wouldn't.

Every good food starts with pork (except ice-cream). I actually had the executive instructor chef at culinary school say that to me. He went on to explain that "If a savory dish doesn't start with rendering lardons, and sauteing shallots, it won't have any depth of flavor".

K. Maybe he was trying to make a point. But he's more often right than wrong. ;)

Ask no questions. But if you are told that the meat you are about to eat has been sacrificed to pagan gods then it is not good to eat as you will be considered a follower of that pagan god.

During the persecutions, Christians were given the option of eating meat sacrificed to the Emperor or being put to death.

***Supermarket shelves are stocked with Halal Meat without our knowledge. ****

Demand the meat be opened, then give it a bacon rub down.

I swear if I ever see a Muslim halal meat section in the supermarkets I will proudly dump several packages of bacon in with everything.

WHAT IS THE MATTER WITH YOU "it doesn't make a difference," Freepers?

Read the same lame diatribe here by several Freepers (just before Thanksgiving) when it was learned that ALL Butterball turkeys were "Halal."

IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH WHETHER OR NOT WE ARE BEING FED HALAL MEATS, IT HAS EVERYTHINGTO DO WITH A TINY MINORITY OF PRACTITIONERS OF THE "RELIGION OF PIECES" FOISTING THEIR "SHARIA" CONCEPTS UPON US KAFURS/INFIDELS IN AN EFFORT TO GAIN EVER MORE CONCESSIONS AND ADVANCE THEIR "STEALTH JIHAD" UNTIL WE ARE IN THE SAME BOAT AS THE EU.

Wake up and smell the encroachment over out Liberties and Freedom.....BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!

>>UNTIL WE ARE IN THE SAME BOAT AS THE EU

Christian churches were empty in Europe before the main muslim invasion began. They abandoned God long ago in Europe and that gave Satan the opening he needed to insert his religion. Islam can move here and open halal meat stores, but they can’t win until we give up our God. And then, there’s nothing on Earth we can do to stop them.

The First Amendment vis-a-vis Islam will be the country’s undoing.

And as soon as it becomes undone, the entire Constitution will be abolished by the very “religion” that presently enjoys its protection.

Smart move, America.

What about upsetting Christians? Doesn't anyone "fear" that? If not, we should make it so they do.....

Money is paid to be ‘halal’. How much money is paid? Who is paid the money? Where does the money go?
A Soviet said we would sell the rope that would be used to hang us.
Now it looks like we are paying for the rope that will be used to hang us.

Strictly speaking, I wouldn’t either. But in reality, to someone who knows Christ as their Savior, according to the Apostle Paul, it has no more effect on our eternal outlook if meat was processed under a halal ritual than if it had been processed in the presence of an African pigmy headhunter chieftan while he danced around on one leg, leapt up, spun around and yelled Geronimo!

There is only one God; capital G. The Triune God, the Father Almighty; Jesus Christ His Son, the Second Person of the Trinity, our Savior; and the Blessed Holy Spirit. Any other so-called gods are imposters, therefore they are actually either demons or mere figments of someone’s imagination.

1Co 8:1 Now as touching things offered unto idols, we know that we all have knowledge. Knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth.
1Co 8:2 And if any man think that he knoweth any thing, he knoweth nothing yet as he ought to know.
1Co 8:3 But if any man love God, the same is known of him.
1Co 8:4 As concerning therefore the eating of those things that are offered in sacrifice unto idols, we know that an idol is nothing in the world, and that there is none other God but one.
1Co 8:5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
1Co 8:6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
1Co 8:7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled.
1Co 8:8 But meat commendeth us not to God: for neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse.
