Kiss member Gene Simmons and War founder Howard E. Scott unleashed verbal assaults this week on other acts.

Gene Simmons Simmons, the bassist and vocalist for the legendary band, said Madonna is not appropriate to perform at Super Bowl XLVI. When asked for his opinion on the matter, Simmons had a sarcastic response. "I love all karaoke singers," he told TMZ. "I like all the girl singers who get up and sing with tapes. Shame on you."

Look for more “costume failures” with Madonna.

I was thinking the same thing. Janet already bared her breast so Madonna will have to do her one better and figure out a way to show her pet monkey.

I’m guessing Hank Williams Jr. was not invited.

“Lets get Webb Wilder to do it”

Used to know Webb’s guitar player. Don’t know if he’s still with him though.

Costume failures at her age could produce prosthetics, support hose and lots of spanks. I don’t think that will happen.

I am disappointed that Madonna was picked to do the Super Bowl half-time show in Indy. IMHO, I hate her liberal politics, I hate her music. One year, I liked The Who being the act.

Who (or what) picked the act anyway?

What did the Beastie Boys do to get into any hall of fame? Have I missed somthing? A long career like Guns N Roses qualifies them. But the Beastie Boys? Nah.

The BBoys stole African-American New Yorkers thing and did it their own Upper East Side white Jewish boy style???

I’ve seen the BBoys live enough times, think I own all of their recordings before 2004, but really, they didn’t break any new ground nor really make any lasting contributions,

They get played alot at sporting events, along with GnR and RHCP? Maybe that is the criteria?

Because they came up with such brilliant lyrics, such as, "if you are going to wash your ass, best use soap". From the song- "Unite"

Not all the BB’s stuff was good, just like not all of Kiss’ stuff was good. But the BB’s are taltented if you take the time to explore some of their albums. Their latest, Hot Sauce Committee P.2 is not bad at all..

The SuperBowl(trade mark protected)has been skewing old in choices for half time performers, believing aging rock stars will keep dad in front of the t.v. to watch the Chrysler and Viagra ads, but maybe they’ve decided to change and use a 50 year old Madonna to get the attention of the youth market. They’re in a bind; “young” performers such as Black Eyed Peas and Justin Timberlake have stunk. My idea - college marching bands. Just a thought.

Also, there is no justice in the Rock ‘n Roll Hall of Fame until Joan Jett gets in. “No Jett, No Peace.”

I’m wondering how much further the envelope can be pushed in my lifetime before there’s nothing left but to actually “do it” on a live stage before a general audience.

The Beastie Boys were a novelty act. You might as well admit Alvin and the Chipmunks to the HOF.

The Beastie Boys also caught flack for receiving a special honor, being named Wednesday as 2012 inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

I simply do not understand how an act like the 'The Beastie Boys' can be inducted to the R&R Hall of Fame but a band like 'Rush' is not.
Oh...I know the reason but still....The frakin' Beastie Boys? Just...damn.

"Sabotage" alone is worth an induction. That and "No Sleep Til Brooklyn."

Are they less rock'n'roll than Neil Diamond?

Neil Diamond is not Rock 'n' Roll. Neither are the Beastie Boys.

Neil Diamond is Pop. The Beastie Boys are Rap. Not Hip Hop but Rap. Much different.

Rush can be said to be 'not Rock 'n' Roll' but they are far closer to it than either Neil Diamond or The Beastie Boys.

And BTW...I love "No Sleep Til Brooklyn.". I like "Intergalactic" too.
"Eeeeeeeeeuuh...drop?"

Neil Diamond’s 1960s singles on the Bang label (his best work) were very much Folk Rock.
