Regardless of what one thinks about climate change and whether the theory is plausible or not, Barbara Boxer, with her 100% pro-choice voting record, talking about anything "endangering humankind" is the height of self-deluded deception. During a press conference on Capitol Hill, Barbara said the following:
The message I have for climate deniers is this: you are endangering humankind. It is time for climate deniers to face reality, because the body of evidence is overwhelming and the world's leading scientists agree.
Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairwoman Barbara Boxer (D-CA), referring to a scientific "body of evidence" to attest to the reality of climate change, is about as authentic a stance as atheist/evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins quoting Scripture to support his belief in the theory of evolution.
In 1993, twelve years after a United States Senate Judiciary Subcommittee invited experts to testify on the question of when life begins, science buff Barbara Boxer assumed office. According to a prominent physician who attended the hearing at that time, there was not "even a single expert witness who would specifically testify that life begins at any point other than conception or implantation."
Testimony supporting life included statements from Dr. Jerome LeJeune, professor of genetics at the University of Descartes in Paris, "discoverer of the chromosome pattern of Down syndrome," who testified to the Judiciary Subcommittee that "after fertilization has taken place a new human being has come into being ... each individual has a very neat beginning, at conception."
The official Senate report on the testimony surrounding Senate Bill 158, the "Human Life Bill," summarized the issue this way:

Ping!
She says “humankind” because she’s afraid to say “mankind”, because of women’s lib. Yet does she realize that “human” has “man” in it? “huMANkind”? She may want to pick another word to make her political statements.
I am going to guess that a sunny high of 37 at my home in Tennessee will also endanger life later this night. Babs, Al Gore is not coming back. Get over it.
Yes, ma’am, “Senator” Boxer.
She worked so hard to earn the title “Senator”.
This article is a classic example of the straw man logical fallacy.
Very few, if any, pro-choice advocates claim the fetus is not alive, that it is not human or that it is not a separate organism.
They claim, and the Roe decision agreed, that it is not a legal person according to the constitutional definition.
There are only two logical definite points at which a new “person” can come into being: conception and birth. The Court chose birth. I disagree with them, but neither they nor Ms. Boxer are claiming the fetus isn’t alive or human. They just say this particular human life has no enforceable legal rights.
It’ll be a great day when she’s no longer a U.S. Senator.
I'd rather she stayed Senator and all those idiots who keep voting her in be gone. Unfortunately, they will still be here to vote in another brain damaged wacko when Boxer retires.
Thanks jazusamo.
Whoops, too quick for me.
More properly she should speak of "H2O based lifeforms" to avoid any accusations of offensive or preferential terminology.
Yes, but a woman has a man in her as well...
And female has male in it.
The race of MAN it is.
Carbon Units.
I remember when ulcers were certainly caused by spicy food and coffee, they all agreed.
I remember when swimming less than an hour after one ate would definitely kill you with cramps.
I remember when doctors pushed Old Gold cigarettes because there wasn't a cough in a car load.
I remember when heart disease was treated with bed rest and no exertion.
I remember when sunburn was an unavoidable part of summer vacation and not a cause of cancer.
Hell, I'm old enough to remember when scientists scoffed at plate tectonics.
Science isn't " done" by consensus but by evidence. Where's the warming?
Hah!
I remember all those too and am afflicted with problems from a couple of them. Heck, the first doctor I can remember when I was a kid was a friend of my folks and he smoked like a chimney. I also remember Phillip Morris cigarettes being one of “I Love Lucy’s” main advertisers.
The human body is 70% H2O but only 18% carbon.
Anyway, It's the 11th year of the New Mellinium and the 12th year in The Age of Gore.
"Carbon" has been officially relegated to 4 letter word status.
