Andrew Breitbart Steps Down From GOProud Board After it Outs Perry Advisor
NY Magazine ^ | 12/9/2011 | Andre Tartar

It's not all that surprising that, in the wake of Rick Perry's much-maligned anti-gay ad the other day, the gay conservative group GOPRoud ended up at the center of the ensuing media storm, fielding requests from reporters left and right. Except it seems that the group's director and chairman (inadvertently, they claim) created a gay-bashing brouhaha of their own by letting slip the true sexual orientation of Tony Fabrizio, a top strategist on the governor's presidential campaign. In an e-mail to the rest of the board — acquired by the Daily Caller — GOProud leaders Chris Barron and Jimmy LaSavlia defended themselves, basically by claiming that Fabrizio's in-or-out status wasn't exactly a closely-held secret.

Why do gay people want to embarrass others by calling them gay?

>> Doesn’t bother me either. But, considering Perry’s recent ad, he may have some explaining to do. Honestly, all he has to say is, ‘I hired the best people for the job. As long as they support my campaign and the values it stands for. What they do in their private life is no business of mine.’ >>

I agree with that. I want to be left alone to walk out my faith, run my business, raise my kids and keep as much of the fruits of my labor as possible. As long as anyone else wants that, I would just as soon not know, let alone care, what their proclivities are.

It’s only when the force it on you in the public square and in public policy that I care, and from what I can tell, this staffer was not about any of that.

How many of the first group are recruiting and grooming the ones in the second group?

No doubt, some. I suspect more in the third group are doing the recruiting, but the key thing is that in communities that are more moral (the Midwest, the suburbs, the countryside), societal institutions are more likely to take someone with a troubled childhood and push them to normalcy.

However, if you come to San Francisco with a messed-up background, prepare to get messed up much more.

My compassion for those that may have homosexual instincts should in no way be taken as a vote of support for the homosexual agenda. I see how the agenda is highly destructive, and how the "lifestyle' leads to incredible misery and outright disease.

But if you have gay instincts, are fighting them, and are fighting bad agendas (gay or otherwise), you're alright with me.

NYC schools are now pushing perversion on 11 year olds and Hollyweird has always been tolerant of pedophilia with child stars. Sadly, its becoming more and more accepted.

Let’s back up. Newt has half-siblings - same mother different father.

You typed: **Newt’s half-gay sister**

I tried to clarify she was his half-sister and she is not bi-sexual - she married her girl-friend. There are photos on an earlier thread.

sorry for the confusion;)

I’ve actually never heard that before. I just think its funny that they are “proud” of it, but use it to shame people at the same time.

Wouldn’t “gay conservative” be an oxymoron?

Not necessarily, but Activist, gay conservative might be another story.
Even us old homophobes have to recognize, that part of being conservative is not getting too involved in telling others how to live. They may well have a high regard for the conservative principal of everybody is endowed with the right to pursue happiness so long as it doesn’t step on somebody else’s right to their pursuit.
The most annoying trait of Liberal Activists to insist on imposing their view of the world on others.

Wouldn’t “gay conservative” be an oxymoron?

To an ignorant narrow mind perhaps.

I know many fiscally conservative, church-involved, celibate, disinterested in redefining marriage homosexuals.

What would you call them if not "gay conservative?"

Did he bring in the gay advisor before he posted the ad? If he’s so close to this person, he probably should have consulted him.

But politics is a cut throat business. Everyone eventually ends up under the bus. Sad.
