NAIROBI (TrustLaw) – Armed youths battled the police in southern Kenya, demanding the release of two women arrested for carrying out female genital mutilation (FGM), the Daily Nation reported on Thursday.
In Kuria, near the Kenya-Tanzania border, hundreds of girls as young as eight have been circumcised in the last few weeks, even though the practice is illegal.
When the police arrested two women circumcisers who were cutting young girls, locals blocked their vehicle, demanding the women’s release. The police had to fire in the air to scare off the protestors, the report said.
Armed youths then engaged the police in running battles along the busy Kenya-Tanzania highway.
The local councilor defended the cut, saying it is part of Kuria culture.
“The government allowed us to circumcise the men, which we did, but then we later wondered: now that we have taken men through the initiation, must we not create a pool of women from where they can marry? That is why we have decided to undertake the practice,” Protrus Kohe told the newspaper.
In Kenya, 32 per cent of women aged 15 to 49 have undergone FGM, the paper said.

Wait, do I understand correctly what the issue is.......a circumcised male can only wed a circumcised female? So because there are circumcised males, a pool of circumcised females must be created due to the possibility one of the circumcised males might fall in love with one of the circumcised females? And what if none of the elect young ladies tickles the circumcised male’s fancy? Is anyone thinking clearly here?
In the US many if not all circumcised males marry uncircumcised females................
The thing to note is just how little coverage this gets in our media...

Yep, sounds equal to me. The whole point of doing this is so women won't want to have sex with men and will only submit to their husbands. It is cruel and terrible and these men should all be shot, not to mention the old hags doing the cutting.
Anyone who would fight for this barbaric practice must be shot in the streets like a rabid dog.

First of all, where ever there is Islam, sexual cruelty and immorality skyrockets (not denying the moral sewer pushed on us) but Islam itself fosters these horrors. That is the difference. Check out patriot08's links if you want. No money should go to any country that doesn't eradicate these evils. And Hitlery Clinton is traipsing about the world vilifying countries who condemn homosexuality (using OUR money!) and not a peep from her about pedophilia or FMG or other hateful practices.
