I strongly disagree with this. The only way that Romney could win against Obama would be if Obama were caught in bed, on camera, with Barney Frank — and maybe not even then.
Romney’s biggest problem is that his positions are so all over the map that nobody is sure what he believes — other than he wants to be the President. He doesn’t connect with the voters. They don’t like him, they don’t trust him, they resent that he somehow feels he “deserves” to be President and they really wish he would just GO AWAY.
He’s another McCain-Dole choice. How well has THAT worked for us in the past?
Newt has a lot of baggage, and he’s certainly not my first choice, but once I get past the distaste of having to consider him at all, I do find things about him that I can appreciate and agree with. He does have the ability to excite the voters and he can motivate them.
A lot would depend on his running mate. If he chose Cain or Palin, I think he could get enormous traction, generate huge excitement and, providing he doesn’t stick his foot in his mouth up to his kneecap (a possibility, I admit), he could blast Obama all the way to Kenya.
“A lot would depend on his running mate. If he chose Cain or Palin, I think he could get enormous traction, generate huge excitement and ...”
Howsabout Jindal, Rubio or Ryan? That would be excitement and traction.
