As soon as December 13, the President will sign NDAA Section 1031 into law, permitting citizen imprisonment without evidence or trial. The bill that passed Congress absolutely DOES NOT exempt citizens. The text of Section 1031 reads, "A covered person under this section" includes "any person who has committed a belligerent act". We only have to be ACCUSED, because we don't get a trial.
- Confusingly, Obama threatened a veto for 1032, but NOT 1031. 1032 is UNRELATED to imprisoning citizens without a trial. He has never suggested using a veto to stop Section 1031 citizen imprisonment -- in fact, it was requested by the Obama administration. Watch the video for proof.
- The Feinstein Amendment 1031(e) is dangerously misleading. Don't be fooled: In the text of 1031(e), "Nothing in this section shall be construed...", the only word that matters is "construed" because the Supreme Court are the only ones with the power to construe the law. The Feinstein Amendment 1031(e) permits citizens to be imprisoned without evidence or a trial forever, if the Supreme Court does not EXPLICITLY repeal 1031.

This is Carl Levin, a Democrat, -coming to his senses.
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
What Good Can a Handgun Do Against An Army?
Would someone put this into something we can understand? It doesn’t sound good. Anything Ojerko does seems to turn into crap.
These Rats foresee the distinct possibility that the executive might become Republican again, and all manner of two bit Rat boot licking punks might be fingered as “belligerents” (though they’d have nothing to worry about from Mitt).
Such provision will not stand.
Can you imagine what this would do to Obama’s chances for re-election, as well as being framed as a “brutal totalitarian dictator” even in the minds of the shallowest of Democrat voters ?
I wonder if this stuff is motivated by the anticipation of financial ‘civil unrest’ rather than the stated threat of ‘terrorism’. Seems suspect, given what Europe is prepping for.
Meh, what could go wrong?
The islamic communist puppet wants to destroy THE CONSTITUTION and of ALL RIGHTS and FREEDOMS of WE THE PEOPLE of the UNITED STATES of America. You know that his islamic communist regime will only be attacking and imprisoning us dangerous Tea Party Americans and never any of his muslim murdering islamic terrorists or murdering illegal aliens.
If, and he SHOULD of course lose in 2012, he is counting on this bill for his islamic communist regime in their New Government Jobs and his communist acorn Workers of the World to keep working in and against the American People and THE CONSTITUTION.
And will of course totally burn up THE BILL OF RIGHTS. That is their communist great plan to destroy America and the rest of the world.
They want to be the great communist leaders of the world, which of course means, as it has always and will always mean, to cause the murder of millions and millions of people.
So watch who you vote for next time, and not vote for just a clean half-black person that reads well and doesn’t sound like a rapper, or have every single document about himself sealed away with no proof of ANYTHING about him.
Yes, it’s Rachel Maddow. But, I remember watching this. And it was amazing to hear her talk about it the way she did. This is Indefinite Detention in May 2009.
“The islamic communist puppet wants to destroy THE CONSTITUTION and of ALL RIGHTS and FREEDOMS of WE THE PEOPLE of the UNITED STATES of America. ..”
This is happening faster than I ever dreamed.
Where are the checks and balances?
When did this turd pass the House?
Once you contact congress concerning your disapproval and this abomination is signed, they’ll probably get your name off their list and “disappear” you.
Enjoy your life in the ‘land of the free’. All those earthquakes in the midwest lately and in VA are the founding fathers rolling in their graves.
The country itself is facing a critical point in its history. Many countries have faced it before but not in this modern age on such a large scale. I am afraid the outcome is not going to be good my friend. There are some who believe they will be the decision makers for all of us.
Just love those around you and keep your communities strong, hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
Remember Jose Padilla and his loss of rights as a citizen? He still hasn’t been sentenced because the Eleventh Circuit overturned his conviction, saying it was too lenient.
Congress has just ensured that Obama never runs into the difficulties that Bush did in the Padilla case.
I was just watching one of the Pirates of the Caribean movies with the kids. This was the opening scene - seems fitting for this thread:
“....hereby decree the suspension of the right to trial by jury....”
My thoughts exactly.
