Lost Composure at Holder House Hearing Highlights Overlooked Dramatic Moment

Paging Tonya Reiman!

She is the Fox News Channel body language expert who frequently appears on The O'Reilly Factor. Reiman would have a field day analyzing  the bizarre body, facial, and hand twitchings of Assistant Attorney General Ronald Welch who sat behind Attorney General Eric Holder as he was being grilled by Representative Sandy Adams about personal emails that Holder might have sent or received on the topic of Operation Fast & Furious. Incredibly, even though this was easily the most dramatic moment in both form and substance of the hearing, and possibly all these Fast & Furiious hearings, it was completely overlooked by the media as you can check for yourself in Google News.

The fireworks begin at the 4:50 mark in this video and the bizarre Welch body language follows the 5:00 mark. Also note the frequent audible "throat clearings" by Welch who twice rises out of his seat:

I have been all over this issue since I saw the article where Lanny Breur denied ever have read the Feb 4 “Grassley letter”, but then admitted it had been sent to him at his DOJ email, and that he had forwarded the letter from his DOJ email to his PERSONAL GMail account.

I wrote my Congressman Sensenbrenner about the issue the day before the hearing, and while Sensenbrenner did not ask about DOJ officials using personal email accounts to circumvent Congressional scruntiny, the CongressWoman from Florida did. My Congressman Sensenbrenner merely implied that Congress was being stonewalled and if Holder does not come clean soon, impeachment is an option.

I also told Sensenbrenner that Kevin o’Reilly, the Nat’l Security employee who was stationed at the White House during F&F and who now is ‘unvailable’ due to a sudden transfer to IRAQ, is also a key to unraveling this criminal conspiracy. I hope he follows up on that and they send some folks over to Baghdad to get that guy to testify under oath about what he knew and who he spoke to at the White House about F&F. The stench leads all the way to the top imho.

Looks like Welch had to poop real bad. Holder needs a scapegoat and he needs it yesterday. I think Holder will resign sometime during the first quarter of 2012. Great Leader will have it so in an attempt to limit damage to the reelection effort, banking on the gnat-sized memory of the average voter and the media’s ability to come up with sensational celebrity news.

"Was that a death rattle on the careers of both Welch and Holder?"

Like impeached Federal Judge Alcee Hastings, Eric Holder would be elected to any position he chooses back in Illinois.

Some poster panicked and said it had a virus. It was a mixup as the video is not a fake.

Wow it looked like he was going to wet his pants, over the discussion of Holder’s personal emails.

Point of order on the Newsbusters article: It’s Ronald Weich, not Welch.

This is the DOJ guy who wrote the Feb 4 letter to Grassley that claimed no guns walked ...and then subsequently had to withdraw it for “inaccuracies.” He also wrote an Aug. letter that was withdrawn as well. Interesting track record.

Could be interpreted 2 ways. One, he’s actually ethical, and when he learned that what he’d been told was false, he corrected the record. (Unlikely, imho. He used to work for Harry Reid and Ted Kennedy. Lying would be a prerequisite. Holder and Jarrett and the obamas’ primary criteria for appointment would be loyalty to the reich.

Second possibility: he’s a complicit and integral part of the coverup, if not the operation, and he corrected the record only when it was blatantly obvious that they could no longer maintain specific aspects of the lie.

This is a remarkable video. Kudos to Rep. Adams.

Now, let’s see Ronald Weich’s hyperactive ass plunked down in the witness seat.

Holder may be holding on to private emails about Fast and Furious

http://dailycaller.com/2011/12/11/holder-may-be-holding-onto-private-emails-about-fast-and-furious/

“There are a variety of reasons why the emails we have shared with you are there,” Holder said. “We have shared in an unprecedented way emails and information that no Justice Department and no attorney general has ever authorized before. You have deliberative information contained in that.”

Issa has issued subpoenas and made official requests for many of the emails Holder has withheld from Congress. Because Holder isn’t citing any legal or constitutional exemption, Issa said later in the hearing that he “stands in contempt of Congress” if he continues to stonewall.

“But isn’t it true that executive privilege does not flow to the attorney general, only to the office of the president?” Issa asked during that initial exchange. “So, deliberate process within law enforcement, in your department, in fact, doesn’t deserve executive privilege. As the chairman said going on, you haven’t cited any reason why these have not been delivered.”

Holder continued to avoid the line of questioning, and said that he’s provided an “unprecedented” amount of documents to Congress. But, he still wouldn’t cite a legal reason why he’s refusing to comply with congressional subpoenas and requests.

“But isn’t it true that executive privilege does not flow to the attorney general, only to the office of the president?”

Maybe private e-mails between Obama and Holder?

C-SPAN spelled his name wrong. As a result, it is being misspelled all over the internet. His name is "Weich,"(with an i, not a "l").

Ronald Weich

Current Position: Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legislative Affairs at the Department of Justice (since April 2009)
Boss: Associate Attorney General Thomas J. Perrelli

Anyone know who wears the 4 star bus driver’s coat behind cup Holder? He was cool as a cucumber.

Anyone have a “Holder resignation date” pool yet? I hope he doesn’t go without a nasty fight, and makes it last until the elections. Holder goes, the issue goes completely dead, even more dead than the media blackout shows it to be now. The msm will heave a sigh of relief when he goes.
