Israel has every legal and moral right to stage a pre-emptive strike on Iran, renowned legal expert Prof. Alan Dershowitz said in Tel Aviv on Monday. He also wants to hear U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton speak out more strongly against Iran.
Speaking at the annual business conference sponsored by Globes, Dershowitz stated that regardless of whether or not it would be wise for Israel to attack, Israel has the right morally and legally to strike Iran just as it did on [the nuclear facility] in Iraq in 1981. Having the right to attack does not mean that it should do so, but I would defend Israels right.
Despite the deep and positive security relationship between the United States and Israel, he fears that there may be a disconnect over Irans race to produce a nuclear weapon and reach the capability to stage a nuclear attack on Israel.

However... part of the problem is that pretending War has laws governing it. That gives people excuses to punish people after wars or establish international courts. He appeared on Foxnews one night shortly after 911, stating he wanted to defend Bin Laden in court.

Rational people don't want World War III. Rational people don't run Iran. So now that we live in the real world, and not one were Helium 3 mines run by unicorns provide fusion power for the US, the question is whether we the world will be safer when the Iranians have nukes. I would say
not.

And when that starts a nuclear war between Israel and Iran,If Iran has nuke warheads on missiles, which it is in the process of rapidly getting, do you think it will not fire them on Israel, which it is totally dedicated to destroying no matter what the consequence?
Doing nothing is choosing the very thing you are afraid of happening - unless something is done to stop it.

He was here in Oslo in October and given his background I was surprised that he was such a defender of his motherland unlike most of his fellow travelers.
Like you I have to give him credit for that.

I keep wondering the same thing. The whole point of war is that laws don’t apply.
