Barack Obama Would Lose All 12 Swing States Today, Poll Says
Sunshine State News ^ | 12/13/2011

Posted on 12/13/2011 7:08:23 AM PST by RockinRight

A survey of 12 swing states that Barack Obama carried in 2008 now finds the president losing to both Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich there.

USA Today-Gallup -- polling registered voters in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin -- found Obama trailing Romney 43-48, and Gingrich 45-48.

Because Obama is expected to hold the big states of California, New York and Illinois, he maintains a popular-vote advantage nationwide, where he leads Gingrich 50-44, and edges Romney 47-46.

But the Electoral College math would deliver the White House to Republicans if they can carry the swing states, as the USA Today-Gallup poll shows.

Even more heartening for the GOP is the poll's methodology. Surveys of "registered" tend to artificially inflate Democratic numbers. Scientific samplings of "likely voters" tend to produce more conservative, and accurate, outcomes.

Didn't see this posted yet. If Newt (with his supposed negatives) is leading Barry in PA...perhaps all this news of "Obama feels optimistic" is just BS.

Or maybe THIS poll is BS...who knows?

I also don't buy that Obama would win by 3 pts nationally yet win all 12 of those states, something doesn't add up. With likely turnout favoring the GOP, I'd expect a popular vote majority for the GOP candidate as well in such a scenario.

If it looks like he’s going to lose, expect a scorched earth campaign by his supporters...

Key Line

Because Obama is expected to hold the big states of California, New York and Illinois, he maintains a popular-vote advantage nationwide

If there is a split with the popular vote for Obama and an electoral win for the GOP there will be a civil war. 100% guaranteed that the occupy crowd will not accept defeat. Obama will refuse to leave office and the occupiers will ensure that he is kept there.

Don’t be so sure O’Bummer would carry Illinois.

With the recent huge state tax increases and continued lib overspending, the incumbents will have a hard time holding the fort.

I wonder if that’s what Obama is doing. He seems to be taking this hard-left populist turn (not the same as Palin type populism) that can’t possibly appeal to the middle...but could invigorate his base to the point that even if they lose, they will riot in the streets.

Good thing the U.S. military is on our side! I think Obama would lose the media if refused a peaceful transition of power. Atleast, I hope so.

Be on the lookout for ACORN members with clipboards walking through cemeteries. It’s voter registration time.

this is O’s plan. Massive voter fraud, lots of it is of course caught in swing states and GOP candidate wins.

Then, the OWS/Acorn thugs will emerge and take the streets.
O knows he will lose, but he can make it ugly.

Don't be so sure. Note that every day we are hearing about senior officers being removed for creating a hostile workplace or not embracing gays in the military with sufficient enthusiasm. Obama is purging the military, or at least the officer corps. They may not be on his side, but they won't drive M1A2s guns blazing into crowds of protesters either. Obama doesn't have to seize office. He just has to occupy it and get the UN to declare him the recognized leader.

Obama will refuse to leave office and the occupiers will ensure that he is kept there.

And, that's when there'll be an outright conflagration....we'll have to find a state besides SC this time to tetch it off, though!!!

And these folks are busting ass to insure the popular vote will rule the day. Dangerous.

And, of course, watch for more media-types and progressives giving tacit support for the 3rd party candidacy of Ron Paul or some other “middle of the roader” that will split the Republican party.

As voter mood now stands, this election will not be a choice between Newt and Obama, between Romney and Obama, between Perry and Obama, or between your favorite candidate (she's NOT running!) and Obama. Currently, this election will be pretty much an up or down referendum on Obama. The poll is essentially correct on both Mitt and Newt, based on current support; the outcome is not generated by pollster bias. Additionally, this is "registered voters", not "likely voters", so the actual GOP performance would be significantly better than projected.

What this leaves out is the political campaign. Barry will spend $1B to convince voters that he may be incompetent but [insert GOP nominee's name] is just as bad, and advertising dollars are effective. Our nominee (or the GOP leadership's nominee) will spend half as much, or less, trying to convince voters that "Bush's fault" is getting old, and that our economic mess is Obama's fault. If the election is seen as about character, Obama gains, since people don't want to admit he's a scum, to avoid having his supporters will call them racist. If the election is seen as about the economy, the GOP wins, since Obama said he could fix it in less than four years with shovel ready jobs, he spent $5T in a massive Stimulus that failed just as massively, and the economy is worse than it was.

No, that’s not what this poll is saying. Take the EV’s of the swings and split ‘em.

Good thing for us, we still have The Second Amendment, despite the best efforts of Holder and the kenyan. I, for one, am in no mood to put up with any crap from "The Occupy Crowd" or any of Hussein's 0bamunists.

The result of the multi-generational infestation by the left of public schools and a statist media. Stupid people benefit the left.
