The Obama administration on Tuesday will wade into the increasingly divisive national debate over new voting laws in several states that could depress turnout among minorities and others who helped elect the president in 2008.
With the presidential campaign heating up,Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. will deliver a speech Tuesday expressing concerns about the voter-identification laws, along with a Texas redistricting plan before the Supreme Court that fails to take into account the states burgeoning Hispanic population, he said in an interview Monday.
Holder will speak at the Lyndon Baines Johnson Presidential Libary and Museum in Austin, Tex., which honors the president who shepherded the 1965 Voting Rights Act into law.
When it comes to voting fraud, some conservatives have long argued that it is a serious problem, although others say the number of such cases is relatively low. Studies of the issue have reached different conclusions on the extent of the problem.
You constantly hear about voter fraud . . . but you dont see huge amounts of vote fraud out there, Holder said.

YEAH, especially when you look the other way!!!
Shouldn’t he be busy with a paper shredder somewhere?
He needs to be impeached.
I thought dead people were a majority.
Voter ID ONLY SUPPRESSES FRAUD!
Hmmmm....Bumper sticker?
Holder knows that organized voter fraud THRIVES on lack of Voter ID enforcement.
Same with Moter Voter and Mail In Ballots.
Fraud isn’t something you advertise Eric.
define "huge amount", crapweasel.
Well we passed a voter ID law here in GA and we are not giving it up so Holder can kiss our grits.
Let me take off my PC hat for a moment (let’s face it, I rarely wear it, I hate hats...)
If you’re really at such a stage in life that you can’t afford, or can’t be bothered to get, a F***ING $13 STATE ID...are you really in any position to make a decision that affects the very fate of your nation and your fellow citizens?
If these clowns and professional community organizers (holder, obama, etc.) truly cared about voting rights, they would channel all this effort into making sure the eligible voters all secured their legal identification for voting purposes.
Of course, that is not their goal.
If I want to vote, I have to prove it is me and that I am a citizen. Anything less should not be tolerated.
Mike
If Holder doesn’t stop all of these Voter ID laws there will be millions of voters disenfranchised like dead people, multiple voters, and many, many more!
When I go to my bank and encounter a new teller who doesn't know me, does anyone with two brain neurons to rub together think that I would resist identifying myself? If I am stopped in a traffic check, should I argue with the police officer concerning IDing myself? Try that and see what it gets you.
Impeach and prosecute the racist Socialist bastard!
I received this in an email from one of Tom Tancredo's groups/affiliates:
This is not a fantasy next week it will start to become reality.
Thats when a delegation of leftist Obama supporters will meet with the United Nations High Commissioner on Human Rights in Geneva, Switzerland.
And there they will lay the groundwork to ensure the United Nations takes action in time to save Barack Obama.
This and Holder's Austin "announcement"...scary.
Of course he will, corrupt bastard.
Holder pushes for voter fraud.
corrupt Holder ping
Just like Ft Hood...He was a muzzie....so what!
We gave money to Solyndra....so what.
Hundeds of criminals are now armed with Fast and Furious guns....So what!!
And on and on and on.....
However, after the laws are passed, I'll bet that very little fraud is found. It's akin to sticking a state trooper every 1000 ft beside a stretch of interstate, then saying "There is no speeding on the interstate". People behave better when they know they're being watched.
I'll also bet that Democrat turnout will be in the crapper because of voter id, Dems will scream that racist Voter ID is the cause of it, and since no fraud was found the laws should be repealed.
As far as PR is concerned, there's no way for Repubs to win this one, but it's still a step that needs to be taken, IMHO.
This is a great article on the real issue about Voter Fraud, and it describes an ID requirement is only able to peck at the margins of the problem. The most serious problem is the fraudulent voter registrations turned in months before election day. It’s great reading, and explains that far more than ID’s at polls, the Justice department is in mortal terror of states purging their voter rolls of the dead, and those who have moved out of state.

When my state of South Carolina was working to get a Voter ID law passed, the RATS complained that low income voters would be disenfranchised as they had no money to pay for the ID. So the legislature (Republican majority) changed the law to make the taxpayers pay for the IDs so the IDs could be "free." Believe it or not, then the RATS complained that the low income voters were still disenfranchised as they had no transportation to the DMV to get their "free" ID. Unbelievable!
Actually, you don't need huge amounts of fraud to steal an election; what you need is relatively small amounts in strategic locations.

Ah, but the Federal Gubermint sure wants to know who you are: start a job? File an I-9 after showing photo ID. Open a bank account? Show a photo id to comply with the US Patriot Act.
how about listing states that already have voter ID laws.
I bet the only “disputes” are in swing states.
Austin-bound for rally against Holder & blue helmets. Have a 7’ sign to hold. Wish I knew how to post a photo on here. anyway...King Street Patriots had Anita Moncrief speak from her experience inside ACORN. Stunning presentation. This lady was loaded with facts and the end-game on voter fraud. Visit King Street Website to catch her on the Webcast in Houston from last night.
Its also a good issue for noting the importance of electing a good secretary of state.
The election of Ruth Johnson in Michigan is probably the single most valuable office we took last year. She’s a fraud fighter with a bloodlust due to the fact that she herself was targeted with fraud. To make things even sweeter, we defeated a prize Soros secretary of state project nominee to do it. (Jocelyn Benson was groomed to commit vote fraud)
Some Wisconsin voters having trouble getting required ID

the whiney, leftist , unionista in this BS story (Rita) is posting to the paper’s weibsite reader comments via the pioneer press link...feel free to reply to her idiotic lies, freepers.
Applying for welfare?
Here in Michigan they have to ask for a photo ID but you don’t have to show it. However failure to show it makes your ballot a provisional ballot.

And if you recall many counties provided transportation, here in York County, I think there were less then 10 requests for transportation
Holder’s “Justice” Department is at the heart of organized voter fraud in the U.S., as outlined by whistleblower J. Christian Adams.
Adams is an election lawyer who served in the Voting Rights Section at the U.S. Department of Justice. His bestselling book is Injustice: Exposing the Racial Agenda of the Obama Justice Department (Regnery). His website is www.electionlawcenter.com.
The funny thing is, I work in banking, and some people, especially older ones, get in a major huff when a new teller asks them for ID. "I've been banking here since 19XX! Why should I be asked this?"
You mean the laws already upheld by the Supremes?
When I go to the bank to withdraw money from my account, I appreciate being asked for ID. What I can’t figure out is, when I deposit money into my account, they ask for ID also. As far as I’m concerned, if someone who is not me wants to put money into my account, then by all means....
For deposits it might be related to the possibility of laundering illicitly gained funds in the account of someone else.
Just a thought - my employer doesn’t normally ask for ID for deposits unless something is fishy.
In CA, under certain circumstances, you can get a free ID. Voter ID laws will only disenfranchise people who are voting illegally, and that is the big scare that has been thrown into the dimwit tribe. I call for elimination of the mail in ballot unless it has a finger print on the envelope. All votes should be finger printed when they register and required to place their prints on the envelope when mailing the absentee ballot back in.
