This is a deep subject. Obviously, in the last election there was a lot of "identity politics". I call it tribalism. The parasites vote, en mass, for the person who will keep the gravy train rolling. You actually can't blame them, they are voting in what they perceive as their own best interest.
The people who really screwed up are the ones who voted against their own best interests. That would be anyone who works, pays taxes, or believes in America. Many in these categories will vote for Obama again. For example, Jews.

There is certainly truth in what you said. However, it seems more likely the last election was about the lingering power of the MSM to pick winners and losers. They trashed McCain, mega-trashed Palin, and put Obama on a sky-high pedestal. Most voters just did not have the facts. Some would have voted identically with the entire sordid truth about Barry laid out in black and white, but many would not.
You are right, this is exactly our problem. And this is not going to be fixed by 2012, if ever. It is only getting worse. In 2012 we will be within one "October Surprise" away from a gullible and poorly educated electorate re-electing this man for another 4 years.
