Skip to comments.Breaking: Copy of ATF Email Wanting More Gun Control in Wake of Fast and Furious
Posted on 12/15/2011 12:02:42 PM PST by Nachum
For the better part of a year, I have been saying that the end goal of Fast and Furious was more gun control. Rush Limbaugh has said this, Sean Hannity and other FOX NEWS personalities have said this, and the NRA and Gun Owners of America have said this, among others. (I had a post on Big Government on July 13th dedicated to making this very point.)
Throughout this time, I have had a copy of an email that was sent to me back in March of 2011. Its an July 2010 email from ATF Special Agent in Charge Mark R. Chait to ATF Supervisor William Newell. It is copied to a third ATF Supervisor, William McMahon. Newell and McMahon were assigned to the Phoenix area at the time (and Phoenix just so happened to be ground zero for Fast and Furious.) In it, Chait asks Newell if he can find enough anecdotal cases to support a demand letter on long gun multiple sales. In other words, Chait was asking whether, in the midst of the flood of new weapons hitting the streets via Fast and Furious, a means could be found to justify more gun control.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
He’s fibbing at least a little — that email has been public for at least a week.
Never let a crisis go to waste ! Especially if you created it .
The ATF is a gang of thug wannabes that have no moral compass but have a inherent need for more power and control to justify their existence. Waco was their doing and F&F is worse. How many people have died in Mexico and the US because of their incompetence?....................
You could use the RICO act against most government departments.
They are not content with never wasting a crisis but now have begun creating a crisis so that they can unconstitutionally remove more of our rights and our inept, political hacks in black robes would probably let them get away with it in another “brilliant” 5-4 decision showing once again their complete ignorance of the constitution all the while pretending to but SUPREME court justices.
There ya go
After signing the petition you will get an automatic way to send an e-mail to your Congressman and Senators. You can use their text or fill in your own.
“Working Under the Radar...”
At least a week, yes - the e-mail was linked on Free Republic five months ago: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-bloggers/2748673/posts
If the next president eliminated the ATF completely what functions would need to be handled by other departments?
A: Lying, stealing, depriving citizens of rights.......as long as we keep the Department of Educashion, we're good.
I just hope the GOP led congress shows some spine and indicts Holder and everyone else involved in Fast and Furious.
I sure do not want to see the spinelessness that was shown by RINO politicians and media when it came to Obama Eligibility

Source identification of explosives.
All other functions are unconstitutional.
Thanks. There’s little question that domestic gun control was a key purpose for this operation. I also think they wanted to arm Marxist cartels and destabilize the governments of Mexico and Honduras, and possibly others.
How’s Hawkins fibbing by saying the email was sent to him back in March?
This email is now makes the second of two I’ve seen — both of which clearly implicate the ATF in pushing gun control behind the scenes of Fast and Furious. Doesn’t anyone have the courage to prosecute these people for what they’ve done?
Not in this administration. :(
The fib is that the email, and even the photocopy of the email, are “breaking news”. It’s available via the five-month-old link in comment 12.
