The Donald is at it again. After citing his possible independent presidential bid as the reason only two GOP candidates agreed to attend his Newsmax-sponsored debate, which he backed out of moderating on Tuesday, Donald Trump is continuing to stoke the rumors that he will launch a presidential bid, this time as a possible Americans Elect candidate.
"Thousands of e-mails from folks urging me to seek the Americans Elect Presidential nomination," Trump tweeted from his @realDonaldTrump Twitter account Wednesday morning.
Americans Elect is the first online, independent presidential nominating convention that aims to gain ballot access in all 50 states. According to Elliot Ackerman, the group's chief operating officer, Americans Elect is not a third party , but a second way to nominate a presidential candidate.
They have already secured a spot on the 2012 general election ballot in 11 states, are waiting for confirmation on their submitted petition signatures in three states and are in the process of collecting signatures in 15 others. So far 2.1 million people across the country have signed the Americans Election petition in support of ballot access.

Obama’s trump card
Trump himself would likely pull GOP support...but Americans Elect leans HARD left from what I’ve seen, so it could be a wash, or net benefit for the GOP.
Obama’s trump card
I don’t know who has the bigger head, Trump or O’Reilly. In any event, I’m sick of both of them.
Never trust a guy with a bad comb over.
The election of 1860 had four candidates, if my memory serves me.
We already have a circus and now the Donald wants to add another sideshow so the big eared clown can steal the show for another four years.
Michelle hurt the Donald’s feelings, along with all those other rascally Republicans who declined his debate. Now the Donald can get back to what he always intended, a third party run to help obama.
Dipped in TANG.
Can I finish?
Trump is selling books my fear is that the Obama Axie machine will win no matter who goes against Obama. The Voter ID laws alone with Holder now pushing it.
Instead of griping about whose favorite candidate did what and so on.Why don’t we do something as the GOP are rock stupid and could care less.We need a candidate. And Gingrich Im afraid is McCain with an encyclopedia.Don’t let the Obama trolls win. We are all on the same side.We will unite in the end.
“Americans Elect” is run by high level Democrat operatives, with a very thin veneer between it and George Soros’ money.
Trump will have to fight Bloomberg for the nomination and Bloomie is willing to spend as much as Donald Trump has.
Guess he intends on building in chi-cago
You always get this Trump for Prez talk whenever the Obama Eligibility issue becomes hot. Sherrif Joe about ready to lower the boom on Obama
Couldn't have said it better myself. To which I might add
At this point, I can only hope we can get a brokered convention where a real conservative rides in to the rescue.
He is not a conservative. He was praising Obama until about a year ago or something. He is a phony. A saboteur.
When Trump bloviates about his self importance in the presidential race, he is just as important to the process as is an elephant passing gas to the circus. Both are unpleasant, distracting and thankfully, of short duration.
Holder is going to have Arpaio in a federal lockup long before anything discovered by a county sheriff in Arizona is vetted. And to be honest, if he spent county resources on a matter outside his office’s competence he is liable for state prosecution as well for misallocation of county tax monies.
"The lurkers support me in e-mail!"
Correct and the sitting president lost, Bush 41. It would be pretty shrewd if one of ours could hijack that AE.
I did always say he loves the Clinton’s too much too really want to save this country.
True, Trump will be the Republican’s Ralph Nader.
“True, Trump will be the Republicans Ralph Nader”
More like another Ross Perot.
